Have been bringing the machine, and chemicals in the house, wrapping all my other kit up the towels.
Got in the van this morn, all my sol hoses frozen solid, wand had pushed the o ring out the trigger.
Had to put my 50ft of hoses in the bath, and got away with some thread tape arond trigger.Too close, needless to say,the contents of my van are now in the house.
Thought i would be ok just wrapping towels around stuff :(

Could of been expensive...i hate this cold weather.. ;D

Yeah me too !! I worry about stuff between jobs, temp not going above 0 all day really.
What are you supposed to do if you leave van parked up for a couple of hours when it`s like this ?
Saw weather last night,as low as -10 up north :(
Was really hoping for a day off on Wed,but agy want me to do a 1 bed flat in Manea, which is miles from me,but gotta think of when i am quiet ,will all help ;D Will be a last min dash as usual, picking up the few little bits i need, not even done cards this year,Yule today, more important to me than the 25th,birth of the new sun ,to banish the winter

Lighter nights are on the way ;D
Might be an idea for some to rent some garage space if you aint got one ???

Probably wouldn't have happened if at the end of the last job you run the machine, in order to run the pump, lines and wand dry. In the same way as you should suck dry the hose and motors.
Why not go and buy with business account some new quilts for the house but use the old ones to cover the equipment in the van, and use a frost stat electric heater in the back of the van too.
And as a final precaution insulate the roof and sides of the van, and when it gets really cold each night throw a tarpauline over the vehicle and bungie it down to the wheels. Every little helps you know.

There is an easiser way
Attach some on/off valves and leave them open. ;)

We got to our 1st job today to find it was up a steep hill the van would not clumb up so customer put down rock salt, after vaccing the carpets up we went with the van put the hoses out from our nicely heated van started up only to find the hoses had now frezen! put them back in the van nice & warm with machine running back on the job in 10mins!

Can chemicals left out overnight lose any effectiveness if they were to freeze?
-
If you run the pump with the tank empty and open trigger on say the wand
will this drain the solution hose?
Will doing this be detrimental to the pump?
Already suck out the vacuum hose after every job.

Hi Guys
Wayne, Emulsions yes, solutions no.
So detergents will thaw out fine but protectors can be ruined by freezing as the emulsion is broken and cannot be applied.

Are microsplitters ok to freeze a little? And when you say freezing do you mean frozen solid or loosely?
-
Don`t let pre spray gold freeze !! It`s never goes back from being crystallised,i learned that the expensive way, with 1 full 5ltr,and a half full one
-
Hi Guys
Microsplitters are salt solutions so they will be able to support less dissolved solids as they cool but freezing itself shouldn't harm them.
It's easier to use Pureclean then it won't freeze!
