Hi guys , just thought of putting out this subject, because As a rule we should all help out all the people all over the world who need help, specially this time of year, so I was thinking how much of your money would you give some one who is in poverty, or physical disorder, or mentally disorder, or who just need some kind of help?
As a rule I try to give as much as I can, because I know and actually has happened to me that when ever I helped some one who need my help, GOD has paid me back in double or more. Mind you this doesn’t mean that you give to receive, we should just give to feel good, and to those who never have given, I say just try it and you see how wonderful you feel just inside of yourself.
So please give sensible answer to this question.

None. Charity begins at home. ;D
-
this is were you are very wrong like 99.9% of people.
-
I give as when I feel like it which is normally every week,
I do not give money to places like oxfam as they annoy me by having nice shop fronts and fittings, this money could have been spent on the people that need it, just goes to show however much money we give does not all get to the people that need it. I would love to know the cut oxfan take for expenses.

Yeah, similar here. The way i see things is that it isn't possible to be here and help the poor in other countries. The only way is to visit and spend with them directly.
Aid agencies employ uni grads to send abroad and i begrudge how much they take in admin charges.
-
Does anyone do any charity work or service? That's a more direct way of giving than money.
-
That’s a fair point Window washer, but if you think deep, about Oxfam, in order to pay high rent for their shop in all high streets plus pay their staff wages and other expenses , they need to make some kind of money, hence they have to make their shop more attractive to attract customers, but its nice to know you give some money.

You are so so wrong on this one Ian, how should a charity shop look then, ?
should it have a cheap old till with a old box for a stall, and tatty old rails with multi colored clothing scattered on them, My misses is the Manager of The British Red Cross Shop and they had a re-fit just before the new financial year, so far she is £17,000 up on the year, her shop has just been visited by vogue she had a spread in the November issue basicly saying her shop is well worth a travel too etc, she been in the daily mail, and Thursday of this weeks Argus paper, the quality of goods i.e D&G, Ralph Lauren etc they get in there is unreal, why because the people with money who want to give to charity want to make sure that the item they give away will get a good decent amount of money, do you think a tatty old smelling charity shop will sell a LV bag for £40 the answer is no because it wont attract the right customer for that product but a smart well presented shop will ;D
-
Id love to tell you all but my humility prevents me from bragging about what a nice, kind, generous, thoughtful, decent human being I am ;D

old tatty not at all, but to spend the amount they do on refits ect is criminal unless they get it free, which i doubt, you can dress it how ever you like, I think it is wrong, its just my opinion m8
and tbh I will not go in oxfam for this reason where as I used to
-
On a serious note I have 2 DDs setup with Macmillan Cancer Care and the RSPB.
I think theyre for 10 quid each, I also try to remember to put shop change in the charity pot next to the till.
The last time I gave to someone on the street was to a friend of mine who was begging like they do with their dog, wrapped in a blanket 'Any change mista?'
Gave her a fiver to go get some beers, it might hurry her along a bit ;)

You make a good point. Your missus is lucky that she is probably getting paid to be there.
But, if the red cross (and others) were really serious about giving as much as possible, they should have an online shop and not a high street shop.
Regadless of that though, the shops aren't the issue for me. My thoughts are about the people they pay to go abroad. Someone has to oversee, but from my experience of these operations, the real expertise is already on the ground, is local and (compared to how much red cross delegates got 10 years ago) costs less than 10% of the foreigners wages.

I have started running again...and after evey run I put 2 euros into my 'jar' and when there is enough 'Help for Hero's' and are local animal shelter will get the money.
My g/f goes to the animal shelter once a month (sunday morning) and she mucks them out and we are both looking to help out at our local old folks home in the New Year.
Cheers
Dave.

this is were you are very wrong like 99.9% of people.
I think this is where you are wrong my friend. You sound like a bible basher and you should keep your thoughts in yer head and just talk to god ( if he exists cos i've prayed for help before and he ain't never helped ). :D
-
Thats cos he was too busy sorting the cockups you'd made on the way to asking him for help ;D

on the subject of oxfam and that, if you get them charity bags delivered, asking for cloths etc, they get paid about 240 a week, i got offered a job doing that before i became a wc, a lot of the money thye get in goes on shops, staff, rent, etc
-
i do service at a local AA meeting and one to one 12 step work.ill help an old granny with her shopping etc.and give a few quid to a drunk on the streets but i generally dont give to charities.might do as my business improves!ive had a lot of debts that ive cleared now.took 3 yrs to pay them back!im usually friendly to most people and like a chat and a laugh!im not much of a do gooder really.although i would give money away to a proper charity if i won the lotto.but i always look after ME first!i have to!
best wishes

I don't think they should be hidden away as on line shops as they would then need to advertise, we would then wonder and complain that too much money was being spent to maintain their profile.
I have a friend who manages Acorns, she is the only paid member of staff at that store with 6 or 7 unpaid helpers.
They do try to keep the shops up to date to make it a pleasant place for people to spend their money.

That'll depend on which charity it is mate.
Those bag collection schemes look like a charity and portray themselves as a charity, but read the smallprint on their paper-work and that tells a different story.

My charity is I work for a suicide and despair helpline one night a week. Busy this time of year!

She earns £12,000 a year, we would be better off with her not working but we got a special needs Daughter so she likes to give a little back, she was a volunteer for 2 years and the top bods new there was better options for her, the charity workers that go abroad to help pay for themselves, she has set up a ebay shop because some products will earn more money on there, Personally I think a well presented shop will do better as it attracts those with a little bit more money as well as those with very little, rent isnt cheap either, I wont step foot in certain charity shops as they smell, have p stanes in the crutch of clothes, where as the ones I do go in are better presented, they send clothes in rag bags that cant be soled which they still make money from.
I tell you someone who got sweet fa this year Ian was my Daughters Social Worker ;)

Well its nice to see there are some wise men among us all.
It doesn’t matter how you give as long as you give, usually 10% of your income will do nicely, and give to only people who inspire you and not just any one, for example I went to a restaurant last weekend and there was this waitress who really looked after me and wife and made us Both feel good, so I just gave her £20.00 in her hand which she was very happy, and also made me feel good to see a nice smile on her face and last week I received 3 new window cleaning contract.
Don’t take my word for it and just try it, I know it is so hard for many people to understand this, but just try it.
You will be much happier person.

My gran works in a oxfam depot and delivers to the shops etc. They over the last few years have been making major major cutbacks and loking of ways to earn more for less.
A online oxfam shopis exactly what they have done. Thought of and done at my nans depot and helped by wembley.
Wembley oxfam is one of the worst in london and surrounding as is Dalston if thats how it is spelt. But they turn over the most....

I don't particularly give any more at this time of year but i do donate a bit to my chosen charities if I can afford it. The last couple of years my finances have been very tight and my financial donations have been very small. Therefore, I have been donating time to helping out when it's been possible. There are ways of giving other than money and sometimes those ways are more helpful than money. I would rather give food and a hot drink to someone sleeping in a doorway because money may be spent to feed an addiction.

Well done to the ones who are wise and kind on here, specially Windowwasher & leapstallbuildings to name the few.
Well I am going to introduce you to a man that has helped many people and has received millions of pounds in money as well as kindness from others. And he is helping lots of people as we speak,
His name is Dr: Joe Vital
He has written lots of books about spiritual wisdom as well as many other positive subjects, you can always see him and some of his work on You Tub.

Also buy his new book and read every word of it.
The book name is: ATTRACT MONEY NOW.
If you do everything he say on his book, your life will change for ever, that’s a promise.

Let me get this right, you give because you want to get back more money than you give? ;D ::)
Well there's more ways to give than purely money, though I do have my own charity, but what I give mostly is my time, and sometimes its a right pain in the bottom, I get grief off Wor Lass too (but mostly she understands), but I do it because I feel I have to.
And what I receive back is worth far more than just money.

kinky sexual favours ? ?? ?

::) ;D No, perspective on my own life. But this whole post is really about karma. The 'ripple effect'. If you want 'it', you've got to give 'it' away. If you want love, you've got to give it. If you want respect, you've got to give it. Its a Buddhist philosophy.

he obviously doesnt believe his own philosophy as he is selling his books and not giving them away he just sounds like another scam artist to me, by the way i do give to charity and dont expect anything in return i am pretty choosy in where i give money too as i feel most are just money making scams, i know ian has raised quite a lot for cancer research but it annoys me when they use this money to develop new drugs and then sell them to the NHS at extravagent amounts that the NHS cant afford so the people who need the drugs dont get them it just shows how greedy and corrupt these pharmacutical companies can be.
-
Well Trevor perry you think what you like to think, about joe Vitale being scam, but this guy always helping people without asking back money, of course he has to make some money of his books for himself as he is running a business like you and me, and there is nothing wrong with that.
I suggest you get his book and read it, then you can judge him, as I said there are 99% of us have a negative believe about everything in life , and if only we change it to positive believe we can achieve lots goals in life.
So please go and read his book before judge him.

Anyone seen the secret ? its about the law of attraction.
My wife and i have the dvd and audio book.
I give to a charity called SANDS which is a charity to do with babys dying (very close to my heart). Also there was a geordie little girl a few months back who needed life saving treatment in the US. They were about £500k short. I donated what i could and later found out that the family raised enough to get her the treatment.
Other things i do are for my older customers... Mrs fisher is 92 and such a character. Each time i clean her windows, i clean a couple of the inside windows for her. She is always so pleased and it makes me feel good knowing ive done a little something
-
Hello window wipers
Yes exactly well done my friend, yes I am part of the organization who believe in the Law of Attraction, and yes I have watched the movie (THE SECRET) several time. I would defiantly recommended to any one to watch it. Is the best thing can happen to any of us who study it, this is the massage I like to pass on to any one who want to better themselves as well as others.
P.S. this no scam

i often do that, but i will more often pop inside for a chat with a old dear, now i have been slagged of on here many a time because of it
that little extra we do, then spare 10 mins having a chat, make us what we are ;)

as long as it makes you happy following his strategies thats what counts and if other people benefit also then all the better, but i dont need to buy a book to tell me it is beneficial to be generous and to help others when i can, if we all did this more then i think the world would be a better place my problem with the joe vitale guy is it changes the motives of generosity into a selfish one in that people only follow it for self gain and thats a bad thing obviously not for joe though as he is raking it in, only time will show if he is genuine or a scam artist but i am not going to spend money on his book to line his pockets thankyou very much.
-
Hi Trevor
Well this is exactly what I mean, lots and lots of people like yourself have a negative believes about people who make lot of money in fact rich people, and that’s why people like Joe Vitale like to educate the negativity within you, its just your believe, and nothing can change your mind except yourself.
Good luck with you anyway.
i whish you all the best.

I've just checked out boshravie's website from the profile and it doesn't take a genius to figure out that it is indeed a scam!
The website offers you a link to another site which tells you to have a secret box free (yes, free!) for a month and it will make you millions... wow, why am I wasting my time working for a living?
Oh yes, the only catch is that you have to give your credit card details in case you keep the box!!!
Anyone got alarm bells ringing?
Also, the guy on the video is obviously not boshravie as the guy on the video has a firmer grasp of the English language. So this is misrepresentation of the person behind the original website... hmmm!
All the best boshravie, but no thanks, I take my chances in the real world.
-
Hey Andy, hows business ? Not seen you over here before
-
Well-done Andy :)
Now you can see where I am coming from,
The guys name is Andrew Reynolds and he is not a scam, by the way yes is an English man. ;)
The guy multimillion, and any one with no knowledge about him can’t just say he is scam until you get to know him.
Lots of people when they see that he is some rich guy, automatically think he is a scam.
Look you don’t have to buy the stuff, you can always send it back within a month, I have been with this guy for the past year, and I am doing fantastic thank you very much, so who ever wants to have more money in their pocket why not, you make money, he make money and every one is a winner, what’s wrong with that?
Unless you are comfortable enough that you don’t need it.

Sure I am and as I will make more money I will give more than 10%.
As I have more money I give more, our goal is not have the money stick to us like a glue. I am not the stopping point for the money.
Rich people understand this concept.

Don't often frequent the window cleaning bit, only to slam down scam artists and maintain a professional interest in what's going on.
Have a great Xmas.

If you are so wealthy, why do you frequent a window cleaning forum?
You would be very surprised the amount of money some people have and come on this forum. Why would having money make any difference at all to weather you would come on here or not ?
-
hi boshravie
why dont you put your money where your mouth is and donate lets say £5000 to windowwashers cancer appeal if you do this with nothing to gain i just may take what you say with a bit more seriousness and purchase the book your on about whats more its a win win situation for you as more than that amount will come flooding back to you.
-
Somehow i dont think he will reply to that...lol...
-
Well I can see this is a hot debate.
As for Mr. Trevor perry, I would love to contribute £5,000 to any kind of charity and even more but right now I have already spend more than my 10% for this month, as my business will grow I will defiantly have put a side that money for window washer cancer appeal, it would be my pleasure to do so.

thats alright you can contribute the 10% next month and for the months after untill the £5000 target is reached i am sure ian at windowwashers will keep us informed of your donations and i will keep my side of the bargain and purchase the book when the target is reached.

have i missed something here
a book ? ?? ? ?
i thought this was a " look at me, and what i go for charity " type of post, thats why i contributed ;)

I am not commenting on the amount of money he has or hasn't got, only that if he were so successful at this scam, then why would he be cleaning windows. I know for a fact that I wouldn't have been out in the weather we had yesterday if I were that successful at something else.
My original comments were meant to show that he is in fact touting a business as someone else on his website, this is at best misdirection and at worst fraud!
Don't turn this into a debate about how much money one or other has.
This post was originally shrouded as a comment on charity donations when in fact it was a sneaky way of this guy advertising a dodgy scam meant to extract credit card details from people who work damn hard for a living.
Don't be suckered into his blatant and possibly illegal scam is my message, pure and simple.

But bosh it was only 3 months ago you were struggling to afford a pole from Alex Gardiner.

Well Trevor
You missing the point, this is not some competition that you keep your side of the barging, this is about helping people so you feel good inside, and God some how help you to become better in health and wealth, you seem to be missing the point, but then again I can not and I will not argue about your way of thinking,
I wish you all a happy Christmas and hope fully some of you understood all I had to say about this subject.
Good luck to all of you for more prospers new year.

Same here Matt ::)

I find your way of thinking odd Boshravie. You appear to be trying to make out that giving to charity is good, but then stipulate that if you can sort out money issues you wont have any worries in life.
Life is far more than just money.
Are you just shallow or a good samaritan?
You have two very different and conflicting views.
-
Any chance I can have a borrow of your Book Bosh, I'm a bit skint with all the xmas shopping. If it's any good I'll forward you the cash after crimbo.
-
is its not how much money you can give, its how much of your time you can give,

no bosh i am not missing the point you are a scam artist trying to extract money out of other people with false promises of wealth and wont even try and back up your flimsy argument by contributing to a worth while cause on this forum ,i think you should crawl back under the stone you came from, giving is something from the heart and we shouldnt expect anything in return but low life like you are even trying to turn an act of kindness into a commercial enterprise and personally i think that is a bit sick

Don't think you will here from Bosh again now he's been rumbled. What happened to his www, just an holding page now. ::)

I just hate those sites, theres something undeniably spammy about them, full of monstrous claims, promises all just too good to be true.
IF the claims were true why not just make your fortune and get on with living your life safe in the knowledge that your financial security is never likely to be a doubt ever again. Because its a scam and the claims/promises etc are all hot air.

is it from this bashravie bloke ? ? ? ?
-
No matt
it’s a educational site, that’s if you want to go that way.
-
Koorush its a site with open-ended unproveable claims. Anyone who thinks giving you there credit card details is making a shrewd move deserves to lose their money.
Koorush, give me your credit card/debit card details and Ill send you a box that'll change your life forever.
-
Can I borrow your BOOK!!!
-

Boshravie isn't selling anything for his personal gain. He is inspired by someone elses book and has mentioned it here.

i thought so
so bosh is just praising the idea, so in my "lifes theory" he doesnt really have anything to gain by spounting BS about it, so he thinks it has worked for him
-
Yeah think so. ;D

Some people are off their rockers...... ::)

He has written lots of books about spiritual wisdom as well as many other positive subjects, you can always see him and some of his work on You Tub.
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=joe%20vitale&search=Search&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&spell=1
Also buy his new book and read every word of it.
The book name is: ATTRACT MONEY NOW.
If you do everything he say on his book, your life will change for ever, that’s a promise.
I just thought I give you this little advise from me as a X- mass present :)

Bosh
Have you bought this book??? If so are you now rich???
-
If you do a whois on the site it tells you who he is, where he lives, I guess if you got ripped off you could go round and 'sort him out' ;D

Well , nice to see we have some good detectives on board :)
Look I didn’t put this topic on here to say how many million I have made, or come and see my wealth or you must buy this to improve you, or ect…..
I just wanted to point out that is nice to help people who are in need and try to help them specially on this festive season, and instead I got bombarded with all these negative attitude.
The web site which I have advertise on my profile which I will continue to do so is again to show people who ever is interested to improve their wealth and well being they have the choice to do so.
All I can say that it has helped me that’s all, and hopefully in future I will become a millionaire and why not, because I have never envied any rich man or woman, in fact I look up to most of rich people in this world, because they are smart and when I get any chance of find out how they do it, I will. My mindset is tuned to become successful, and not like some that go on in life always complain and be negative. In fact it has been proven that most pessimistic people in the world stay in the same job and the same life for the rest of their life. (that’s a fact)
Hope this will help to educate some of the ones who have been negative towards me.
Regards,
Bosh

Bosh fair play to you, is nice to see positive attitude as negative always drags you down. so for that, thank you ;)
-
Well thank you for your positive remark Window washers.
You see in my opinion forums are made generally to get help from different group of people who have good ideas, because we all need help from time to time, and if there are bunch of people come here with a negative attitude and keep putting down any one who is positive person, who have good ideas, that could be any kind of idea, it will put them off for good and eventually the forum gets run down which will be shame.
I hope this help too.
So go on everybody and be positive and wise. :)
