Yep I went, was lovely in Stafford with sunshine... Did 10.30 - 4.30 ;D

I've got an old people's residential complex to do tomorrow; I'd like to have it done before Christmas; so I hope it's warm enough to work.
I still get paid whether I do it or not; I get sent a cheque each month and there's no link up between me cleaning and getting paid; confusing really since I clean this place every six weeks, yet they pay me every month (total annual payment divided by 12 months).
Fairs fair though!
-
was at work at 3am :o it was soooo cold, then it started snowing at 11ish then went home then it was sun shine at home so worked in my area instead
-
No snow in Plymouth, just bitterly cold. It's okay though cause I'm as hard as nails and still work in nothing but a bright red bikini and flip flops.
I like to be noticed; it's good for custom ;D
-
Fridays my day off anyways!!!!!!
-
In South Gloucestershire I worked 11am til 2pm today and did Wfp tops and downstairs windows away from paths and drives and bladed the rest.
I did a whole bungalow last of all trad. today and the water was freezing on the cills by 2pm(except two dormer windows wfp) - know I know why I changed to wfp! - so much quicker on this particular job!
So I went home and frost protected my van and R/O for the night at 3pm and then cut some firewood for an hour. Now I'm all toasty!
-
I did, got my van stuck on the last job and had to leave it there :-(
-
It looks like the cold weather is here for a bit longer:

I cleaned the chippie across town and left it at that. I was meant to do it Wednesday or Thursday otherwise I wouldn't even have done that much. The cleaning wasn't the problem (once it climbed above zero). It was the drive to get to work that I didn't fancy.

My pipes were frozen and, like a dork, i'd forgotten to fill up last night, so I had to mess around for hours unfreezing everything. I got out at 1pm and cleaned till 4 - just 4 large houses. It was mighty cold and the water was freezing on the glass at one place. I had 4 more to do today, so that's down for tomorrow now.
I've got the eleccy greenhouse heater in the van, 500l of pure water and have brought my poles and hoses inside. I've already wrapped all the pipes, filers and RO in foil covered bubble wrap (it was only the connectors and pipes outside that froze solid last night), so i'm hoping I can make a leisurely 10am start and be home by midday-ish. Just hope it's not too cold to clean - washing windows with slush doesn't inspire confidence in the custy!
-

Water in my tank was 3.9 degrees celsius. Sun was out, bitter cold wind was coming up the river in Dartmouth, I was wrapped up nice and warm washing windows all day ;D
Gonna cram a big commercial in tommorrow morning, then put my feet up :)

I worked for about 4,5hr today. Waterproof boots weren't that waterproof and my feet were Ice. Agony, then couldn't feel them anymore. Still, made good money today.

worked today in heavy snow
guess what ?
van did'nt freeze , just as well as I have no heater
water did'nt freeze on windows, just as well as I have no hot water system
no iso either
hose left laying on the ground in snow whilst I worked for 3 hours on one large house did'nt freeze up either ??? I really do wonder sometimes what all the fuss is about ::)
the only problem if ther were one today was the state of the roads and the idiots unable to adjust to adverse conditions.
-

started at 8.30 this a.m, first time wfp in the freezing weather, my brush head kept freezing when i stopped and then my pole developed a desire to lose its clamps, then my backpack decided to pack in >:(, worked out a new way of working so i hardly stoppped thus no brush head freezing, fixed my clamps with a bit of extra tape ;), found that the dreaded negative terminal had once again worked its way loose. On the plus side though i am totally up to date and the tips are flying in. Also got my delivery off gardiners so i now have my bits to finish off my van set up and i also have a new brush head, the one you all rave about ;D

I went out yesterday (saturday) Had a heater in the van all night but only managed to do half the first house before the hose froze and the jets in the brush blocked up.
Went home, thawed it all out started again but it went again within 15 minutes. Finally in the afternoon got three houses done then gave up.

I thought you used hot water ?

I think the lesson here is numerous but one important lesson is to expect a certain amount of down time per year and work that into your financial predications and workload for the coming year.
Work ...1 day last week
Do not think I will work this coming week...
Cheer and have a good one.

No not me, I wish I did! I just have a self built van mounted tank and pumps. I am however investigating ways of warming the water before I leave home in the morning. I reckon even ten degrees would be enough. I have half developed idea of recirculating the water in the tank through a heater off a carpet cleaning machine for about an hour while I have breakfast. Its only necessary for a few days each year so I don't want anything too elaborate
