Cant get out from the back of the house as its a steep hill, looks like the ice and snow here for a while too, just checked the forcast and the temperatures are staying 0 all day with more snow to come. Jeremy kyle it is then.
I heard its bad on the east coast too, anyone else having problems?

I'm snowed in too Mark.
I am only a 5 minute drive from a main road, but I live in a village and down a narrow lane, so they don't grit any of the village. In February I was snowed in for 3 days.
Oh well, all my work is done and the money is in the bank - I've got 2 days free next week for last minute stuff, but if I can't get out then thats me finished for xmas.

Hi Guys
Was thinking of braving the 6 inches but having watched the guy next door get stuck coming off the drive, I've just rearranged 2 jobs and waiting on the third.
Trouble is it means I will have to work late next which I don't like doing.
C'est la vie!!

Just a light smattering of snow here in north Cheshire.
Cold though.
Forgot to top up the water tank in the van yesterday afternoon when I finished. Couldnt do it this morning, tap on the wall and hose all froze up.
Loaded Scorpion, but when I got to job his water tap was handy so Prowler on the job.
Driveway had a slight slope on it. Every time I went o the van I was cautious.
Finished the job, everything packed up, just going to passenger side to get some leaflets to leave and I started to go.
I would love to see a slow motion of it cause it must have been arms and legs flying everywhere, but eventually I went down, but took his ornamental "street lamp" with me. Snapped clean in half and all the glass shattered in the top bit as well.
He was very nice about it - he only gave me one black eye instead of two. ;D
3 jobs to do Monday, one on Tuesday morning so far.

Had to pour a kettle of hot water over my van door,was frozen up solid,was just the road out my village that was bad this morning,1 more job then done for the weekend ;D.
My customer was also back from Hong kong for all of 3 days,paid me £500 for the next 10 weeks,and a £50 tip / xmas pres to boot ! ;D

No snow here in fact with my fair skin may have a touch of sunburn. 8)

Good thick layer of snow here overnight.
Seems I unintentionally timed it spot on.
Had work virtually every day of December so far but had to take today and tomorrow off for childcare.
Of course some snow and the last day of term means the schools think theres no point opening so spent the day dragging the kids around on sleds.
Got 2 jobs booked for Sunday when its hopefully cleared up again.

I've heard that the best way to stop doors freezing is to give them a good rub down with talcum powder as this dries out any moisture in the rubber which hence stops the sticking.
Oh and don't forget to fill your tank up with petrol/diesel to stop condensation forming in the empty part of the tank.
(More good tips from the Doctor for healthy driving. ;D)

Mate was telling me last week about a bottle full of water,with a pipe going to the intake manifold,and another pipe going somewhere else,which is supposedly good for another 30 to 40 miles from a full tank of diesel ?
All over the net suposedly,not thinking of trying it but has anyoine else heard of this ?

Please don't try this Mark, please and I really mean with your history please don't try this.
This sounds like some crazy idea to dilute down the fuel on non fuel injected petrol engines, as it's the vacuum that draws fuel into the cylinders for burning.
If it's fuel injected engine then it will make zero difference as the fuel injection pump meters how much fuel goes to the cylinders, and drawing water into the cylinders has disaster written all over it.

As I left the house this morning and strolled down to pick up my
morning paper the warm breeze was gently wafting the palm trees.
Stopping off on the way back to order coffee and croissants at one
of the many pavement cafes dotted around our town.
Sat outside in the warm breeze perusing my diary as to where my
jobs would take me today and wondering - top up or top down and a/c.
Sunglasses are a given.
Then the wife said get up and turn the thermostat up a bit more you tight sod.

Bad here in Herts against better judgement went out 2 jobs, got stuck twice ??? custys and neighbours digging me out :-[ Van now safely parked for weekend.

The call of the Nursery is getting stronger and stronger.
Three more manic days then after work on the 22nd its beer and curry for me and those who have helped me out during the year. Do you want to come along? It's now known in certain circles as the DCCB-Doctor Carpet Christmas Bash. I've even got clients who pay to come along!! :o
The 23rd is recovery day
The 24th is my birthday
The 25th it's back to work-doing all the cooking AND washing up (no dish washer) for management and my old folks.
The 27th it's holiday time at the out-laws when I'm not allowed to raise a finger-but that only lasts for 2 days. :'(
Of course-any more snow and the whole plan could be buggered! ;)
(PS For those who don't know the Nursery it's a suburban pub tucked away in the middle of housing but which won CAMRA's Best Overall Pub in the Country award a few years ago.)

Free day on monday,3 jobs booked Tue one nursery,one 2 bed and my mums lounge,Wed off until the 30th,day after i get back from the Dam,so god knows what sort of state i will be in ;D .
Start my celebrating on the 21st.
Might have a staff party at the pub over the road,but there is only me so might get a bit lonely,should do really as payback for my wife,she had a childline do last night (unofficial) and could hardly speak when i picked her up from the station last night,yagermister,and too many bottles of bubbly
