how do you stop ur tank and pipes from freezin up in winter?

i empty my tank and runoff all the water and just put di in house, in morning will connect up and fill up with some hot water and run it for a few minutes and thsi shoudl be ok, had no problems up to yet

sounds like a lot of faffing around!wouldnt it be better to put heater in van and bring hose inside with quilt round tank? ::)
