Hi sorry for the dual heading,
Just thought i would let you know about the Sealskin gloves i bought last month,
used them yesterday for the first time as it was very cold and frosty,
Well, they are absolutely useless !!
my hands were freezing cold immediately, within an hour they were also soaking wet !
I paid £25 for them from a camping shop , where the sales manager insisted they were the best thing since sliced bread,
he said fishermen swear by them, milkmen and window cleaners come in for them etc etc.
They are the black ones with the plastic bubble grips on the palms.
Rubbish.

I have a problem with one of my jets on the brush, the water only trickles out,.... i have cleaned it out but it still does not come out the same speed as the other jet, bloody annoying,
anyone else had this problem?
Thanks for any help. ;)

Regarding the jet Gazza, you have to "suck" out a blockage usually mate. Blowing won't work. Suck the pipe it's connected to. ;)
Regarding the gloves, good to hear, save mi'sen 25 smackers! ;)

After various tries on the glove front in the £15 - £25 range I have settled on Wickes labourers gloves with orange rubber fingers and palm with yellow "woollen" backs.
They are called Professional builders' grippa gloves and are £2.99 - product code 186928 - but my local wickes was doing them at 3 pairs for a fiver when I got some last month.
Now they are good anyway with water resistance but if it's cold and wet I put those polythene throwaway gloves inside to give additional thermal protection and complete waterproof - ness!
I take a few pairs with me and get them washed and dried weekly.
They last a few weeks before you get a hole, but with the inserts they last indefinitely.
Cheap as chips!
You can also wash and tumble them and they dry out fast on van heater vents too.

Thanks lads,
i have a couple of pairs of the wickes gloves which i used last year, really good for grip and keep hands mostly dry,... but not warm,
so i will try them with the plastic liners now, thanks
;)
Thanks macmac too, for the jets help.

You got sold the wrong gloves, they are rubbish. The Sealskin glove you need is the Winter Glove.

i rarely wear gloves when working but if i do i found a cheap pair for a couple of quid out of my local discount store just fine.
Bought a pair of the unger ones for about 18 quid. ripped to shreds in about 2 weeks!

aye, but difference is, we dont need gloves to protect us from our cold keyboard...
we are the grafters, not pen pushers! ;D
-
still grafted to get here. ;)
also i will be working more as more work has come on. I actually prefer working in the winter to the summer. I've never been scared of a little graft :P and in the winters i have worked mostly i've never worn gloves 8)

i dont wear gloves v.much either.if i do i usually wear them for an hour or two in the morning.ive got the GLACIER perfect curve neoprene gloves.they keep your hands nice and warm but they can sweat a bit!but after a few hours a tend to take them off.its a pain taking them off to post tickets etc at times.good for keeping the hands warm carrying an ali ladders about though! ;D ;D

i work 99% of the time with no gloves but some days are too cold and others i could manage but why if i can wear gloves and be warm!
sealskinz i find great but trad, and not had them in the rain yet as its never usually cold when raining, so i find them ok but in the past i remmeber them getting wet and it not being great fun but all part of teh job i suppose!
-
just bought two pairs of joka polar gloves from omni pole try them out tommorow , there soppose to be good .
-
i also bought seal skin gloves which cost me about £20 last winter. I was very disappointed with them. I now use cheap gloves from a builders merchant which are coated with pvc on outside. They cost less than a pound and Are, waterproof!
