Title: Kilim Rug/carpet

Lady has left msg tonight on answer phone asking if i can clean a Kilim carpet, not sure if its a rug or not
recognise the type of rug from pictures i have googled, but dont remember ever cleaning one
Any advice please ....or should it be sent away to Franklyns(if theyre still doing them?

It's a flat weave rug, usually smallish.

It doesn't tell you any more though. It could be an easy one or a very bad one.

If you send it to Franklins you won't learn much. If you give it to someone who will show you how to do it you will have learned something.

I cleaned a dozen Kilim Jute rugs last year. They were owned by a couple who hire tents at festivals.Caked in mud. Everything I knew and could find out told me to walk away. The job was a do or die scenario and the custy was happy to do take the risk so I put a hose on them in the courtyard, scrubbed them with a brush extracted them and dried them. All worked very well.
