Yep, it was the right thing. This swivel is made for sweeping brushes. It is a ball joint (ball + socket). Trouble is, it's not strong enough for wfp so the ball pops out of the socket.
You just need to drill a hole right through the "ball joint" & insert a nail/pin or similar through it. this prevents it popping out. the swivel moves from side to side so obviously the hole has to be the right direction to still allow this. Drill the hole as streight & accurate as possible, this will retain a better swivel action. Lube the ball joint with a bit of vaseline or similar for smooth action. It will become clear when you have it in your hand, very simple & obvious but nessesary. ;) You may have to file a flat spot to get a good drill point.

Sweet, Cheers mate.
Will just go with a pilot hole with a 1mm drill piece.
So excited!

Think I used a 3mm drill last time, then put a nail through & bent it so it couldn't come back out.
One thing, these swivels often vary in quality, I've had some last 6 weeks & others 6 months+. The narrowest part, that joins the ball is the bit that breaks first. ;)
