Title: Grim EOT carpets
Post by: nevil on December 08, 2009, 07:25:09 pm
It's only a small flat with three rooms and a small hallway. It took two hour before I could get near it with the wand. I hate pre vaccing.

Oh and before someone else says it. I'll post the before pics later. :)

Don't worry one of us got it :D

Looks grim indeed, but don't you secretly enjoy getting stuck into these jobs occasionaly?  Just for the satisfaction of posting the before/after pics if nothing else!!

Glad someone got it. :) Secretly and not so secretly I hate them. Two hours wielding a brush, dustpan and a vacuum cleaner has zero appeal.

I didn't take any after pics. I only took those so I can show the agent why the bill is so hefty.

They looked ok.

Nothing to shout about. They are worn out carpets. I'm always very careful to manage the customers expectations, I said to the agent that there isn't a pristine, lovely carpet waiting to be revealed under the sea of debris grot and fAg burns. He still wanted to go ahead even after I painted a gloomy picture of the likely outcome. So frankly I don't really care too much that they don't look great. He was able to make an informed decision based on the info I gave him before starting work. He chose wrong in my opinion. Tough

After an hour on the job I thought I was a dustman carrying those bags of rubbish arround. >:(

Am i the only one wanting to see the after pics? ;D How did they come up?
Had one like this the other day, looked more like a pub carpet than a house! You do what you can to warn them without wanting to talk yourself out of a job!! ::)

Hi

Nevil, they don't look too bad underneath although tough to tell with all the debris.

I usually use a henry on these cases, makes it so much easier, follow up with a sebo if I need to get deeper.

Would love to see the after pics, anything on those before pics would be a vast improvement.

Joe, pretty much as Dennis suggested. Entrance to the kitchen and same again although not as bad entrance to the lounge.
Belonged to a middle age lady who was telling me her life story, by all accounts been suffering with depression for some time. Years of neglect I think.

Yep and she was still living there.  :o
