Title: Metalic Dust
Post by: amayze on December 07, 2009, 08:00:50 pm
Okay guys, a more serious thread now, and no I'm not talling about their new single !

I got some new Titan ladders last week, and I keep getting a slightly black metalic dust on my hands. I've tried wiping them down, rinsing 'em with a hose, does anybody know how to get rid of this, especially as it becomes a real nightmare on any PVC (white) sills and frames !

i get it all the time,it ends up getting engrained in my hands, its only when i have time off i get my hands back to normal, mate of mine gets it as well and he doesnt use Titan, other cleaners have remarked on it as they dont get it ,so we think its cause we do more work  ;D

ive not noticed it on ABRU  ladders.  i know a lot of folk knock these ,but theyre the lightest of the bunch(tell me if im wrong) and thts what its about, for me anyway

I looked at the ABRU ladders in B&Q - nice price, but did look a bit flimsy !

my hands are black after a day with ally ladders, need some spare time to scrub of hands properly.

yes ,they are flimsy, the flexing of an ABRU  ladder can feel  scarey at first but get used to it . Theyve a 25 stone load limit.  one downside is they catch the wind ,like a leaf does .  i think the better known makes such as Titan are cheaper On price ,well made  ,but heavier on the shoulder  . on the top of a car recently i saw what looked like really light narrow ladders , they splayed out a tad at the bottom which looked a good idea ,but i didnt get close enough to see who made them .

My Titan's were more expensive than the ABRU version. I know what you mean about the wind and the ladders feeling like a leaf, hence why I went for the Titan's.

Heavier, yes...but steadier.
