I'm upgrading my wand from a 1.5 in to a 1.75 in or maybe 2 in but have been told the 2 in will be too bulky for the small extra airflow offered. Any advice appreciated.

small extra airflow offered.
Small ?.

To use a 1.5" wand after my 1.75" Westpac is like playing with a toy. I hate it now >:(
Presuming you have 2" hose with a suitable machine to do the sucking, the larger bore wand should work fine for you. Use a 2" cuff for maximum benefit. But remember, wands are a very personal thing. What works for Tom may be awful for Dick and Harry. Try before you buy.
Safe and happy cleaning :)

You get used to a bigger wand the 2" are worth it, the carpets do dry faster and not just by a bit.

I was using a 1.5", twin jet Wand with a TM , I now use a 2" four jet Wand with a glide.
The difference in drying time is amazing.

I don't know what machine you use Rich, if it is an air optomised portable,
or a truckmount you will benefit with a 2" wand.
If it is a vac' optomised portable you will actually decrease the performance slightly.
Provided you have in excess of 200 - 230 CFM, it is an advantage.

It's for the Scorpion. Was asking Solutions about a large bore wand and was advised the 1.75.

I thinking the 2 in wand isn't too bulky then
