I am looking to buy a new truck mount
I am not interested in Hydramaster my son is having issues with his and going all the way to Cornwall from Essex when you are having grief with the machine when its under warrantee does not appeal to me. The parts are too expensive also.
I been looking at the dual wand 25hp version that Woodbridge are turning out the price seems good any one out there having fun with them!

It's just that 25hp seems a bit underpowered for dual wanding. Just had a look at the site actually, they state airflow figures of 543 cfm which in theory is ok for 2 wands. That's a lot of performance out of a relatively small engine, either they have a very efficient design or the stats might be a tad optimistic ???
It's probably perfectly alright, I'm no TM expert but it just seemed a little bit too much performance from an engine of that size. You might have to thrash the nadgers off it at full revs to dual wand effectively, which obviously has implications on fuel, servicing, wear and engine life.
Guess you need a real life testimonial from someone else who operates one...

HM no more expensive than anyone else ???, only choice really Alltec , HM and Prochem if they've sorted their customer service

I have the Cobalt from Alltec which is a good machine, 22HP and they are quite near.
Woodbridge is obviously the nearest TM supplier to here but their service is often questioned. There machines are built to a lower spec but are much cheaper and lighter, I suppose it's all down to how much you want to spend.
I am a great believer in being near enough to a TM supplier to get it sorted in a day, preferably less and is the main reason I chose Alltec over Hydramaster which at the time were the two companies with the best reputations.

I run a H/M 427 sweet dualing! but you could try Ashbys Genesis 68hp dual operator.

Here is a testamonial from someone who has had a pro 25 for the last 4 years.
It runs sweet as a nut with next to no problems at all, and you havent got to thrash the nuts out of it to dual wand.
As for Woodbridge service - i have always found it spot on.
Im in a position where im opposite from you, im on hydramasters doorstep but i went to Woodbridge and glad i did.

Hi Lads,
First off Jim I was not trying to be impolite by asking what you was implying my 1st thoughts were maybe you had heard some of the contradictory reports that one often hears about the Woodbridge machines and the levels of service they offer, I have had dealings with both johns they both good sales men but are only as good as the service they can offer at any given time and there are shortcomings with both camps.
I like to have a chat with you at some time Doug about the merits of the cobalt I will drop you a line.
And as for the lads running the 427s I know they are a good machine but having spoke to another guy to day who has just brought a new phoenix from hydramaster he has had nothing but grief and the long and short of it Cornwall is a long way of if you have issues major or otherwise so its looking like choosing an option closer to home.

It's such a shame that someone can't start importing the Steamway again. Great machine.
Leigh, I bought your son's old ninja off him a couple of years back and it served me well until upgrading. Maybe its worth having a look at the Ashbys option. They are close to you and if they have a decent TM engineer on site that might an option worth considering. I would hazard a guess that someone with your years in the industry knows Derek well so he might look after you. Just a thought.

All suppliers are under pressure to sell and some take that too far which is why it's worth sticking with those that advise you fairly. Thats why many buy from John at Restoremate because he is honest and helpful. That said, you should'nt discount a supplier because they have 2nd generation people selling products because they might have what is just right for you.

Yes I agree Pete.
But I have delt with Ashbys in Sittingbourne. Speaking from expience they are pushy. And do not give good advice. But just saying how I find.
However some may find they offer an unrivelled Service. But I find that hard to believe.

ATM I don't think we are getting best from our suppliers as they aren't holding the same amount of stock as they were 18 months ago and it makes a difference.

Pheonix Isn't a HM USA manufactured machine, bought a Boxer 318 last year fantastic machine.

Jim, We use a HM Crossfire 4.2 that is powered by a Honda 20hp air cooled engine & has a Roots 45 blower (365cfm). The previous owners (friends of mine) used to dual wand with it regular on large commercial jobs. Also, a company i used to work for had ta HM Maxx 450D that had a 23.5hp engine & Roots 45 Blower (365 cfm) and we used to dual wand with that. So the Panther 25 that has a 25hp engine & Roots 47 Blower (543 cfm) is more than capable.
I have heard nothing but good reviews regarding the whole panther range from Woodbridge. They seem to be a very simple & reliable truckmount.
The Phoenix is built here in the UK and is as i understand sold by Solutions which John Gotts owns part of. Dont suppose he can really advertise a different make of truckmount on his HM UK website hence it been sold via Solution.
