Hi All
I did a carpet protection job yesterday, the carpet had just been laid so all I had to do was sray and go. I did the job and handed the customer the bill he replyed "thanks ever so much the carpet company wanted more than twice this!!) :o :o
It costs me 36p per sm for the product plus other costs etc so I charge £1.50 plus vat per sm. I still made a very good profit for twenty minutes work, ;) but could not belive this big household name could get away with charging £3.50 per sm :o :o
What do you guys charge?
Regards Gavin
-
£1.75 sq yd, but I would have sprayed with water first.
-
What protector are you using?
MArk
-
Gavin,
Between £2 and £2.50 depending on area.
Cheers,
Doug

I use SoluGard and charge £3 a sq m, reduced by 20% if applied at the same time as a clean.
I do not charge for re applying next time i clean the items though. As we know, Solutions will not remove the protection so all is needed is a top up. Customers love that they only have to pay once as those that had ScotchGard in the past, had to pay again after each clean.

2 pounds a square metre.
-
Sologard at £2.50 or £3.00 plus 12mounths free stain removal and a free stain removal kit.
Beat that Straker ;)
-
Already have................same price without running round for nothing each time they spill something :o
Thats why I sell them a No3 or No5 spotter for £9.95 ::)
Look forwards and UPwards Mr Holman :P

Chris

Len
-
Len,
At £9.95 I rarely have to give change, that means i get a 5 pence tip ;D
Less effort and more reward............................greedy and lazy ::)
Prefer to call it 'conserving energy' and 'excellent value' :P
Is it possible the 3M stands for the reaction when called back to a stain.............................MMM, thats not supposed to happen, MMM
-
Chris
But in some cases I’m £o.o4 in front ;D ;D
Another trick I always add gratuities to the bill restaurants do it so do I! ;D
Nice one about the 3m’s come on kev would like to know you must have a Q card to read from.
Mine would be so you want a chieftain tank that will be £12m thank you very much! But it is not nuke proof! ;D

Would the 3M product be able to seal the carpet bowl for 4 days, as did Solugard ??

As with most of the post's on this Forum there are the knockers and thats most of the membership. All get on the band wagon and knock. If most of you spent the time that you do on this forum on your busniess you would not have time to moan.
You use what you think works for you and what is the trade name of the moment and let the people how have been in the game a little bit longer than most of you get on with what has made alot of people that was in the 3M network very happy with the returns.......
And yes it does work, Your're not appling it right, thats where training comes in.
Thats what being in a network is all about.. Watch this space?????
Happy spraying
Kevin
Sorry got out of the wrong side of the bed today been a bad week in more ways than one.
-
You may not do all the running around I do Chris but it keeps me in the customers mind, reciprecation is the word im looking for nearly every time i give a free stain removal they ask me to price something else so it works ;D
Anyway Chris you have been trading a lot longer than me when im your age i would have built a big business by then and retire not STILL scrubbing carpets and helping people with their alergys ;)
See ya OLD boy
-
Kevin, Not knocking ScothGard as i used to carry out work for John & Linda Lodge, who you know, just asking as i last heard it was removed from the market ???
Nick, You wont make it to my age so spend it now ;D

Gavin,
Surely your product cost is more than 36p per mtr using Solugard .I would say nearer 60 - 70p .
Mike
-
Hi Mike
36p Per sm is what I was told it cost me by the supplier, I just take Nicks word for it ;)
Regards Gavin
-
Hi Mike
1 X 5 litre solugard £58.00 coverage 150 meters carpet up to 300 meters upholstery carept application cost .38p pm
Best regards Nick
-
Hi Nick,
Has the price gone down ? With VAT I thought you were looking at about £70 . 1 ltr covering 20 sq /m . Is that over applying or just more realistic ? Thats 5 ltr doing 100 sq /m hence 70p per sq/m . Please correct me if I'm wrong .
Regards Mike.

who supplies the Sologard
which is the best protector for suites

What size nozzle are you all using for spraying your protector? I've just changed to using a 0000 for a much finer spray and still excellent test results.
Charge between 1.50 - £2.50/m for carpets and between £80 - £150 for suites
-
I use prochem fluoroseal - always spray lightly with acidic rinse first. £1.50 / SqM.

Hi All
Solution uk sell Solugard I don't think anyone else does ???
Solugard is nanotechnology-based It coats every single fibre with an invisible UV-stable protectective layer. Water, coffee, red, wine, gravy, etc will simply pearl off the treated fibres
The best nozzle to use for this is a 500050
To use simply spray carpet lightly first with water, then spray across the carpet then up and down the length of the carpet and leave to dry, do not rub it in with carpet brush.
Hope this helps ;)
Regards Gavin
