HI all
Last month we cleaned one of our contact sites in the first week of the month as per usual , but was then called back in 14 days later to clean the whole site again as there was a directors visit .
so the question is would you leave it to be cleaned again from the last date cleaned, or go back to your first week in the month clean as per the norm,
this would mean that it would have been cleaned 3 times in 6 weeks
Any thoughts ?
-
I always leave stuff like this from the date of the last visit otherwise they'll be thinking, 'Crikey, do they clean us every week or something?'.
-
I would clean from when you was due to clean the first time, if they want off shedule thats fine.
You have a shedule to keep and they should understand this.
-
thats my thought but its always good to ask
it was an extra clean so is it my fault that they have been cleaned 3 times in six weeks
its a job to know what to do sometimes for the best ,as it stands now if we went back on the last clean we would be there on the 21 st which is christmas week and my busy week
any other thoughts !

Why don't you phone and ask them?
That way there's no misunderstanding or possible argument or even loss of the contract

Andy the only reason it was cleaned was to make a good impression, they will excpect nothing different that you clean clean to your normal routine, if all work did this and just had to call just to see and some said yes some said no, your shedules would be up the swanny would they not ?
-
What if this was a weekly clean and your normal date was Friday, but they asked you to clean on Thursday because some big boss from head office was visiting to give them an inspection.
Would you then clean them again the next day?

no you would clean them a day early and keep to shedule there after, bit of a silly question really tweedledum. there is a bit of a differnce 14 days out of 4 weeks shedule and 1 day ::)

Reductio ad absurdum is a latin phrase meaning to reduce the argument to absurdity; and that's all I did.
Its your work, fella, you clean it when you like!

good point
but this is a monthly and can be as dirty in two days depending on the weather and the wind

IMO your way of thinking is the normal way any business would do.. I clean nursing home they can have an out of shedule clean anytime as an extra but there sheduled clean is carried out as normal, as is classed as an extra clean full stop. case closed ;D

We do our lidls fortnightly,
If they ask for a special clean(which they often do) in between cleans then I always continue with my schedule and treat the request as an extra clean.
Its the only way to do it or it would knock us off track especially with the distance we cover.

Why don't you phone and ask them?
That way there's no misunderstanding or possible argument or even loss of the contract
Ok, so having read the subsequent posts, if you're worried about how the custy would feel about you "coming too early" why not, when they request the extra visit, ask them at the time whether they want the next scheduled clean at the usual time?

Agreed, but Andy was worried about what his custy would think. Only way to find out is to ask him ::)

true, but as soon as he does they will be thinking we can save money here and get him to do work as and when they please at no extra cost. unless this is a big contract he does not want to lose I would not be getting put out when they ask for an extra, I would as said class it just as it is. if it was as said from someone else a day before then it would make no difference if we could fit it in but half waty through andy would be doing extra work for no extra money for doing them the favour, that imo would be stupid...

This is a large ish contract and on occasions they seem to have money to burn
but with the climate at the moment who knows Why don't you phone and ask them?

I know how you feel on that one, every year something happens to mess up the last week. I have planed this one so there is only 3 days work in the 4 days, extras can be and are being added if we have the time.
I would bet money and gladly lose if it went smoothly. anyone what to bet with me ?
-
def stick with the schedule - should of asked them about it tho or just make them aware of the fact the extra visit has mucked up the schedule and you need to get it back in line with schedule
-

Agreed, its an ad hoc clean so carry on as normal, thats what we do!
-
I would stick to schedule, thats what I do when it normally happens. I would also charge extra as it is a non contract item.
When quoting the contract I wouod normally include an out off schedule hourly rate and apply this to an unscheduled clean.
-
Well what was i worrying about ::)
turned up today and started as normal ,as i said in previous post they were dirty as hell cos of the weather . ;D
the manager was pleased to see us , so dispite it raining untill 2.30 we did all the insides and then some of the outs , two more hours in the morning and we have finished ;)
me thinks lesson learned
