Title: Touchlocal.com - any thoughts.
Post by: garyfindlay on December 03, 2009, 07:00:53 pm
I have been hassled over the last week from touchlocal.com, trying to sign my up for advertising. When I mentioned my website is above theirs on google, he pointed out  that another side of their company is ebay, and that they were big in England, but just starting in Scotland. He also guarantees 200 leads a year or your money back, and has now slashed £300 off the bill, if I sign tomorrow. Has anyone had any dealings with them. Also YP apparently is loosing billions. Anyone still with them? I read a while ago on here people were not staying with them?

Touch Local do a free advert - take that, but dont pay them for advertising.
I tried and it just doesnt work.
Put your money into a 2nd website, or get your existing one SEO so you get to a higher position.

I`ve tried that a couple of times with different companies.......funny though they don`t seem to get back in touch. ;D What about YP. Are they worth going into?

I wouldnt bother and while we are on this subject beware of another company called Locallife. We signed up for an agreement with them last year for £400, never got a single enquiry and this year they say we are on a rolling contract and have to pay another £414 for this years ad....of course we paid it......not!

Myself i would not bother with y pages ..

It once was a great source of work years ago but its on its last legs nowadays.

Yell is not much better in my opinion but it may work for others ???

My thoughts are how it even gets to the point you are having to ask.

If it was a good deal why does he have to hassle you?

If it was any good why do they need to slash prices?

If it was any good why the pressure time limit technique?

If it was any good why don't they let you see how wonderful it is before you buy?

Spend the £300 on SEO on your own websitea and you will get a much better return for your money plus good advice . I use Chris Boswell at
FourSquare Innovations LLP
6 Hawksworth Grove,
Leeds, West Yorkshire,
LS5 3NB
T: 0844 493 3699

But Iam sure  there are some other suitable  recommedations but I have been very happy with Chris.
