I have just built a web site using office live but need some help with getting into the search engine part as it dont come up any where ??? ???

Register with google webmaster tools first,.. after a couple of weeks it'll give you info on "What Google see's" when it looks at your site. Then you can adjust your keywords to improve your ranking.

Have try that but im not very good with things like that so was just after a little bit of help sorting it out :)
