I am not moaning but really dissapointed I didnt buy it earlier now. Gardiners have sold out and dont know when or if they will be getting them back in. So I am a bit lost as to what pole now.
The 22 was on a rather good price and seems like a very good pole.
I cant really afford to go up to almost £400 on the slx 25, but wanted to know if its worth it, or a different pole for the £300 mark?
Is the much difference in terms of reaching higher windows withg the 25 over the 22, or will the difference be minimal.
Thanks for any help!!!
-
LOL,.. I ordered an SLX-22 today,... maybe I got the last one?!! ;)
-
Im finding my sl22 a bit short on some..
i need the 25!
-
Ive been waiting for 3 weeks for the slx 18 ft for my mrs
Says on the website today that they will be in stock this week, praise the Lord
-
why dont you have a look at Brodex or Ionics the Ionics 28 foot Glider is about £370
-
Am about to look elsewhere, but got mu heart set on the Slx. And a bit gutted that I now need to spend almost another oner.
Lucky you Nathanaell! :-[
-
you will b glad u spent that extra tonn on the sl 25 pal i no i am, i originally wanted the 22 but they ran out so got the 25 and 3 story stuff and over pretty much any cony is a doddle now get it spent
-
I would stick to the slx. I have the first gen 25ft slx and open it all the way several times a month. If you only need the 22 ft then I would wait for it to come back in stock, there is a massive difference between the slx and other poles and seeing that a pole is an investment that will last for hopefully at least a year possibly many, you might as well get the right one to begin with.
Simon.

In a normal round, with normal residential properties, if you want to reach 99% of said residential work, you need a 25ft SL-X.
-
I`m conserdering a 24ft hybrid

-
I have the 25 and it is only just long enough for some of my residentials - a 22 would have been too short so I'm glad i spent the extra money now.
-
I bought the 18' initially but recently added two lengths on it to make it I think a 28/29 footer. Its still a piece of cake to use all day even with the extra weight and over conservatorys now is so much easier, Im sure the longer pole is stiffer; which makes it all that much easier to use and work with.
-
And you can remove the last section and use it as a 22 footer if you want to like my son does.
-
i would say stretch to the slx 25, myself i have slx 35 but 90% of the time i use it in 25 and keep the extra two section in the motor for the odd 10%,
-
have alook at the brodex hydra alloy , half the price and will last twice as long , obviously not as light but a very useable pole regards alan
-
Cheers guys. Really thought the 22 would do most of my stuff. But seems like the 25 is the one then. Can you add more to it later? How high does the 25 go?
Think maybe this was a blessing in disguise!! ;D
-
I would advise the 25ft one anyway mate. Superb pole. does everything from ground to, well, depends how tall you are! ;D better to have a bit more than not enough.
Had mine since it first was released (MKI) still use it every day! Can't praise this pole enough. ;)

How old would that make the pole mate? And have you had any big or major problems with it? Wear ok?
I understand the Mk3 will have improvements.

Can't quite remember but would think 2 years old. No more wear than what is normal & expected. Have carbon facelift too but don't use it as prefere SLX. Had to minor modify clamps once but the slx has better clamps now. Absolutely no grumbles from me regarding this pole. ;)
-
Sounds good. So 2 years is acheivable ;D
New to Wfp and some people have said a year +, but this sounds good!!
-
brodex have a new pole out (Hydra) they will last twice as long than a slx and the are very cheap at the mo! http://www.brodexbms.co.uk/index.php/news/constant_hot_water_whenever_you_need_it/
-
I have the SLX-25 its certainly my most used pole. I would say stretch to it.

what!?!?
Hydra Alloy Commercial Pole 25ft for £115
thats miles cheaper.. how heavy and rigid is it thou?
-
I have an SLX that is now coming up 9 months old and although it is the 30ft plus 5ft extension version I run it as a 20ft pole for 95% of my work and keep the bigger sections in the van for when I need them.
-
Think I will stretch for the pole, Going to mean more hard work, which cant be a bad thing!!
God, I have just looked at the Hydra poles. That is so cheap. Half the price for 36 foot....
Are there any specs on this?
-

http://shop.brodexbms.co.uk/products/launching-an-addition-to-the-hydra-pole-range
the collapsed length has put me off! 6 foot 1 inch for the 25 footer.. far too long for resiwork.

Then you could go for the 31ft pole and cut it down as all the sections are removable,
and still works out cheap

good price but the 30ft slx is 1.8kg 5ft 5 in closed
31ft hydra is 3.3kg 6ft 3in closed :o
and it's marketed as "Amazingly light: (bare pole weight)"
-
Forget the Hydra, it's rubbish.
If you look after your SL-X well it will last and last and last. My mark 1 SL-X just had it's clamp upgrade. I've had the pole since launch and it barely wore at all, the inside of the clamps haven't even worn half a milimeter.
Keep it clean, keep it for a long time.
-
You got the hydra then Tim?
What's your findings to say it's rubbish?
-
Ok cheers guys. Will go with the 25!!

I have one.
It's too thick, it's too heavy, three weeks old and I hate it.
May sell it.
Save for the slx

Hi Lee,i`m in North Staffordshire,
what would you want for it ?
-

I have the invoice 2/11,09 paid £155 + 23 vat
I would have thought £100 cash would be fair, not sure about the 3 year guarantee though I doubt if it could be transfered . That said if it had to be returned you would have to use my address.
