Hi,
cif with not scratch pad. Builders mess ?
Kervin WINDOLENE.
-
what surface are these spots on mate looks like a sink to me mate
-
hi, i dont think its a builders mess, there is a lot of trees near where it is
it is on upvc window
i got most of the mess of just cant get them off
-
I'd just do a quick 'best effort' and leave whats left! But I am unprofessional apparantly!

Cant say for sure because the photo's not in focus, but to me it looks like rust stains, quite common on UPVC window sills if you get metal shavings or filings left on the sills they will rust and stain the white plastic, if the staining has etched into the plastic then usually it's permanent and cant be removed.
Hope this helps.

looks like rust stains looking at it closer use a upvc cleaner can get from b&q mate very good stuff it gets most if the crap off not all do the best job you can on it!!!
-
could try brasso in a corner to see if it comes off

I was thinking that.. but then look at the paintwork.. its quite possible splattered paint.
get some solvent upvc cleaner and plenty of elbow grease.
However if it is rust - it would have been hot filings melted into the plastic and then rusted up - cant remove them. Far easier to replace or cover the sill.

the first step is allways accepting you have a problem
well done ;) ;)
-
Hope removing that is an extra? I'm with Tosh sills and frames get a wipe over if something doesn't come of with the brush it gets left unless its bird crap.
-
looks more like paint to me,there again no1 son deciced last year to chop the handle bars on his bmx a bit shorter-with my angle grinder :o :o result two new sealed glass units and metal in my pvc frames-not happy, anyway jif or cif as it is now removed the rust marks and the metal filings from the cill and frame-just check if its on the glass as well if it is its metal if not its probably some kind of paint/stain hope this helps

ok will try cif, i thought it might have had some thing to do with trees as had a window covered in it that came off with the scraper
-
id say its the crap from the brick work or the floor, any pressure washing gone on at that house?
not the best way but could be quick - try a light going over with your window cleaning scraper.

If it is rust, then you could try natural lemon juice (not the stuff in plastic bottles) or white vinegar, upvc should be ok with these two.
You say the windows where covered in the same stuff, so might not be rust but sap from the tree, any idea what type of tree it is?
-
no idea what type fo tree, there was a few, most of the marks came off, this is the first time that i have really had this problem, if i cant get them off on the next clean might just explain to the bloke that hes stuck with them

I read this at first as saying, 're: how to get rid of these posts'.
;D ;D ;D ;D

Is there a railway line close by? We have a railway up on an embankment in this town, so all the houses that back on to the tracks get a constant shower of metal particles from the train wheels and brakes. After a while uPVC sills look like sandpaper - brown and very rough!!
It may be possible to remove the particles and stains, but it is progressive and constant removal of the surface of the plastic soon makes it look terrible. The only sensible solution in this case is to paint the plastic a nice shade of brown ;D

Giant bottle of 'clear-o-cill' from the chemists should clear it up in a couple of weeks. ;)
