Title: carpet cleaning!!
Post by: Milltown Cleaning on November 23, 2009, 03:12:57 pm
It seems i am i the wrong trade!!! ive had a few calls over the last few weeks asking do i do carpet cleaning, and at the minute the answer is no.

This got me thinking, would it be worth my while adding it to my list of services?!

This is where you guys come in, i was wondering if i could get a quick 101 in carpet cleaning!!

Like what equipment do you need, cost of equipment, insurance, pros, cons, experience needed and whether it would just be too much bother!

all help appreciated guys

Thanks

GO on NCCA training course, will open your eyes to carpet cleaning and give you all information needed plus training materials.

This is the best way to do it, it will be the best money you will ever spend to get you started.

I would do some research in your area to find the most respected cleaner close to you and refer your cleaning inturn for learning the ropes in addition to some formal eduaction. If this cleaner really is a pro he will not be threated by you, and you might find out carpet cleaning is not a good fit before making a huge investment.

I have one or two franchise maid / janitorial services approach me on this every year........I can only think of one of these guys still cleaning carpet, the rest just send me their carpet cleaning and have decided to focus on their core business. This introduction allowed them to see a snap shot of my business practices, and made them feel comfortable refering me.

Do a deal with a local carpet cleaner and take a cut or some sort of reciprocal. It may seem you are in the wrong trade but a few calls mean nothing. Do you get them all year round?

Save your time and money.

i was only joking about being in the wrong trade lol!!

i do window cleaning and power washing and had thought that i could possibly have this as an add on, but that is nothing more than a thought at the moment.

that was where i was hoping you guys could come in. How much does it take to set yourself up in carpet cleaning? what equipment do you use?

the ncca does not seem to operate in northern ireland

NCCA training courses are held in Leicester They have various machines at the training centre for you to try.

You could set up with a machine for say £1000, but £3000 will buy the top of the range 3 vac latest models.
Trainin and advertising extra of course.

All depends where you want to start and where you want to go .

The machine and the training is the cheap part, be prepared to spend a small fortune on advertising with out much back in return, for the 1st 2 years at least.
