Have been doing this job now for 2.5 years and I need to speed up. I can do one of these houses( http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-27666449.html?pageNumber=13&fromSummary=true&backToListURL=%2Fproperty-for-sale%2FTimperley.html%3Findex%3D120 ) about 20-25 minutes. It is hard to get a good example but the side will have a bathroom/landing window, a pvc door and a down stairs window. At the back you will have a bathroom window, bedroom window (big, maybe a bay), downstairs will usually have french doors and a kitchen window.
My main problem when I speed up is openers and double openers. Even now after in some cases of 2 years of cleaning I can still get runs from either the space between the double opener or dribbles from the bottom of the opener. How do I solve this and maintain a better speed?
I have nearly 1k of work a month I cannot get to do. Need to get faster.

20 mins seems ok to me

personally i dont there is anything wrong with the time your taking to do that sort of house as you have to reposition your ladders at least twice on the upstairs bay, as for the drips try using less water or maybe wiping the bottom of the window before you start and therefore keeping less from the problem areas.

i think your speeds ok, i wipe the bar with a towel after doing the top

First impression is 20 mins isn't bad, the other probs, it could be you are using abit too much water. After 2 or 3 years, you must be at a decent speed, so just crack on and don't worry about it mate.

I think he might be WFP. ???

Ok, so I am going ok then by the general consensus. My next move then is to try and get someone 2 days a week to try and get that work done. Some of it in my pocket is better then none at all. Cheers for the replys. I am WFP by the way, I should have stated that in the beginning.

I recon if wfp 15-20 mins max

Thats ok for 20 mins, guess its £10-£15
You say you struggle to get round 1k of work a month. Are you full time? as £250 a week isn't a massive amount. What are your prices like? It could be low price rather than too slow.
Bear in mind you could take an hour if you were to charge £35-£40.

Think hes saying he struggles with 1k of the work i.e he got 3k of work but can only do 2k of it in a 4 week cycle ???

OK that makes sense.
-
Yes, I mean I could earn an extra 1k if I could get it all done.

I could do that house from pulling the van up to pulling away again in 5 minutes...
It would be a crap job though ;D
20/25 mins ain't bad at all and you get to keep doing a good job and keeping your customers happy.
