Title: wcw backpack pump
Post by: rz on November 18, 2009, 10:35:50 pm
hi all

does anybody know if the pump on the wcw backpack can be shut down a bit.

it has a tap on it but i think it would be better to back the pump off rather than restrict the flow.

i already have a sureflow backpack and rarely use it above no1 setting so i think the wcw one can be slowed down quite a lot.

if nobody knows i,ll strip it down and post my findings.

thanks

i asked a few questions on wcw backpack 2 months ago, ish.

was mentioned that somewhere on pump is a screw that turns down flow.

also someone swapped battery to lower voltage 12v-6v which slowed down flow.

I also have a yellow back pack and have modified it by putting a by-pass in. I cut the red pipe 2" from the pump and put in a T piece one goes out to the pole with a control valve tap which is mounted thru the blacking so I can adjust it. The other goes to another control valve and then on to a hole I drilled into the moulding nipple at the bottom of the tank and atteched it with a o ring it works well reduces the flow but puts no pressure on the pump
