Title: Cintique upholstery
Post by: Fraser Thom on November 18, 2009, 08:54:13 pm
Has anyone cleaned this type of upholstery before?

Just a bit worried about the close proximitey of the wood to the fabric and the potential for problems.

You are right to be careful as the wood stay can run or you may strip the wood with prespray, I would get a bucket with foaming shampoo and apply the shampoo with a sponge you can be accurate with you way you apply it always have a terry towel to wipe as you go along.

cleaned these loads of times without a problem. I use a M/S and just have a towel handy to wipe the woodwork as I pre-spray.

if you want to check just get a cloth and wet it with your prespray then give the woodwork a wipe down see if you get any transfer onto the cloth.

these are just like doing the seats on dining chairs most are fine

As Mike says, pre-test the wood with the pre-spray, i have cleaned 100's of these over the years without any probs at all

Just cleaned a suite like that today!  As above, wipe up frames as you work and you'll get no probs

because they are "sit up proper" type seating with long legs so they are higher up, easy to get out of. Got mine on order.  ;)
