I was at a site today, where they the client themselves have purchased Bleach.
Now they are happy with the cleaning but wanted to use bleach.
I thought Bleach was banned, but I am obviously wrong.
Can any one please advise me on where I can find the information that clearly states that we can or cannot use Bleach to clean offices.
Thanks
Dave

Why would they use bleach in an office
Could it be your insurance provider? Mine didn’t cover me for using it so I band my staff from using it even if the customer supplied it. Other than that don’t know

hi there
Bleach in a workplace is considered to be a hazardous chemical, and as such should be stored as such, AND NOT UNDER THE SINK.
the biggest issue is, if your client puts bleach in the toilet bowl, and then a cleaner cleans the toilet with another toileet cleaner chemical, the resultant gas in a confined room can hospitalise a person.
alternatively if the cleaner cleans the toilet, and the client pours bleach in the toilet.
the client might be happy , but ask them to check with their insurance company, they may well change their mind after that discussion.

Do a risk assessment and get the customer to countersign to say thats what they want done and they fully accept the risks identified

We used Zenith "Washroom Renovator", for when customers didn't want bleach. It has that bleachy smell, but I find it better than bleach actually. Comes in a trigger bottle.
As their blurb says; Washroom Renovator is a specialised blend of surfactants and sodium hypochlorite (aka bleach!!) formulated to rapidly renovate washroom areas. It apparently contains a pot pourri fragrance-but I can't smell it.
Worth a look.

not sure how good of an alternative it is but you could try eco-bleach, supposably far less "bleach" in it which is quickly dilluted to an unharmful amount whe in contact with other liquid.
