Title: Combo doors in the wet season
Post by: Pole 2 Pole on November 18, 2009, 02:49:12 pm
Does anyone else have trouble with them in the autumn/winter? I press the remote to open up and summet(i dunno what) happens. They don't seem to want to unlock. It's definitely a damp thing. What's the solution combo boys?  ;)

I've only just got my combo and teh side sliding door is driving me nuts!!!  >:(

Sometimes it opens up fine no trouble on remote, others it stays shut, open close with fob few times then it will open !

I've tried getting into the inside of the door from the inside of the van , but can't get teh plastic cover off without breaking it! If I could get in there I might be able to sort it out somehow!

GGGRRR.

Also, I can't close my van with the fob if I got Buster my pet mut with me for the day - he sets the alarm  off by movement!!

If you look on the edge of the door where it meets the van you'll see metal contact points,.. just give em a clean and it should work much better.

If it's a design flaw then surely they will be aware of this and have a fix for it. If not contact Watchdog, they love this kind of thing and who knows you may get to meet Anne Robinson(oh what a treat  :P )

spray wd 40 into the locks and wipe the rubber seal around the door with wd 40 that should solve your problem .

Cheers lads. I'll try all that tomorrow. I have done the wd thing, but didn't wipe the rubber and haven't really cleaned the contacts.
