Title: New Porty
Post by: paul.g on November 17, 2009, 07:11:42 pm
Hi guys, I am finally ready to buy a new portable machine. The favourite so far is the Powerflite pfx1350(with wanda wand). I would appreciate opinions of anyone who uses or has used this machine.
thanks.

I have the Perfect Heat and its fish friend wanda  ;D

Performs well, good pressure, although only really use it between 200-300psi, good suction and when used with the WW leaves carpets fairly dry.
Good for heat too, (as the name might suggest) warm to hot water in the tank and you get steam temp. spray especially if you run the vacs while vacuuming and/or pre-spraying.
Had one self-inflicted problem with it so far, took it back to Amtech and was dealt with within hours so decent after-care too, but then I am only an hour from them.
Bit bulky if I'm honest, if I know I have to take a machine upstairs then I'll take my smaller Ninja instead but overall happy with it.

I'll just be honest with you. I am on this forum with a genuine subject matter and STILL no sensible response. If Harry hill lookalikes want to respond with jokes there are forums to cater. Otherwise keep off. Same problem as before...... more inflated egos.

We'll see if the same people like it when they raise a subject.

You need to have a sense of humour, just a bit of banter.
The machine you originally asked about is a great bit of kit ;)

I see by his avatar, our humourless friend is rather "necky" ;D Although a picture of a Giraffe would possibly be more apt!

Hi Paul i had one for 3 years and it looks the business and does the business.I was always getting comments(good ones) from clients as to how impressive it looked.I easily ran 3 lengths of hose from it so no need to take it upstairs.I liked the wonderwand too.I only sold it because i was offered a truckmount at an excellent price.Regards Alan(swindon)

About 4 years ago I had the choice of the 1350 or the CFR. I chose the CFR - only difference is the CFR recycles its water, therefore less bucketing.
It worked fine with the WONDER wand and at 500 psi for most of the time.
Dont know how long the water lasts with the 1350 using the WW at 500psi, with the CFR recycling it really was'nt a problem.
Heat is very good.
Darren O has said he has had a vac motor problem after just a few months. That should no be the case but it may be that the vac motors are not now Lamb but sourced from China - check that out, you may need your dealer to be close to you!
Easy to laod in the van due to two wheels at the top.
Dont try to lug it up stairs - just get 50' of hoses and stand it at bottom of stairs (or outside front door) - 50' should get you to most corners of the average 4 bed house.

By the way, if you want to stick it out on the forums you need to be able to take more then a reasonable amount of abuse and threatening emails/texts etc and still smile.

Joe

I have a 1085 model and well pleased with it. Has enough water storage 38l. Also have the ww but seldom use it. It is very good, but uses a lot of water. I bought an ex demo and have had no problems with it.

Len what ever i thought of the WW is irrelevant the guy got a 3 week old wonder  wand for less than half price saying that the guy got rid of it to.My own opinion on the wonder wand is you have to use it at least 400psi to get a decent clean but when your waste tank only holds 30 litres you spend more time emptying the machine than cleaning carpets.

Darren
Re your vac motor going so soon ie 3 months.
They changed it for you, ok, but did you find out why it failed? was it a genuine Lamb motor or was it sourced from China (or similar)?.

Even genuine Lambs, and whilst I cannot complain about them, once bore a sticker proclaiming ''CRAFTED WITH PRIDE IN THE USA'', nowadays it is just a little apologetic ''Made in Mexico'' that I see.

Joe it was a Chinese Vac they never told me what was wrong with it and it was replaced under warranty one thing about the chinese vacs my Powerflight has far better suction than my Raptor and my Powermax and they both had lamb vacs in them.

I believe that amtech have stopped putting the cheap chinese vacs in new machines now because of the probs so buying a powerflite now this should not be an issue unless its amachine asupplier has had in stock a while.

"Clean It Up Gods" is a title given to those who have posted a lot, its not something we asked for.
We are just the same as you - carpet cleaners - except perhaps with a bit a humour in us.
