hi i know has been discussed before but it's becoming very annoying.i have a lot of customers lately that say leave it this month or leave if till spring.i know the days are shorter but i'm still building my round so need all the customers.there is nothing i can do really just to leave them till spring or next month.althoug i started to let them know that every clean which is over 12 weeks gets charged 50 % more on the first clean in the spring.i want to stop the messers with the risk of affecting me on the wages.better now before it becomes to stressful.thank you

C.C.S. out of interest the ones that are saying not today.how much are u charging them
?maybe ur too expensive for a monthly clean!
-
If i get a not this month i give them the benefit of the doubt, but if it's regular I offer then every other month and charge accordingly.
if anyone gives it not till spring, I tell them i can't guarantee taking them on in spring, and look for a replacement
-
i don't think it's the price is the ones that skiped me before it's just theway they are.some they are £10-£12 for 10-12 windows which is about right around here.

When they ask you to start cleaning again put your prices up by 25% tell them its to cover the 3 months they dumped you for.
I tell all my customers that I work ALL year round and will part company with any customer who tells me not to bother cleaning from December til March. I tell them this from day one.

I had a couple of not todays last Friday morning. They were both the first time it had happened so I simply made a note of it. If they do it again within the next six months I will ask if they would prefer every two months, for which I charge around 25 -30 % more.
Any "not 'til the spring" customers are a waste of space and will be replaced with a better customer.
-
u will always get a small percentage of custy saying not to day, just say ok, thats all i ever do, then replace them with better custys, a lot of custys think that they can drop u when they want and pick u up when they want, as you can live on ur dole money, lol
just forget about them, i would make a note of them, and if you get desperate in spring to them till u can replace them

If you haven't got enough work then you'll have to go with the flow and generally let the custys rule you for a while. When you get to stage two - when you've got a fair bit of work you can afford to say "phone me again in the spring and If I have any room left I'll try and take you back on". Stage three is when you have so much work you're glad they say leave it today 'cos it gives you a chance to catch up and it's up to you if you dump them.
I've been at stage three a lot lately and I wish a few more would say "not today thanks"
Looked at my list tomorrow and I'll either run out of time, water (650l) or both. Just can't get it done :'(

thats just terrible ftp to many custys, what a problem to have lol

When you first start up you'll get a more-than-usual amount of customers saying, 'Not this month' or 'Can you leave them till Spring?' and the such, but when you can ditch these customers (ASAP).
And, if you stick window cleaning, you'll find over time that incidents of this sort stop happening. I honestly can't remember when I've last been stopped window cleaning without a good explanation; such as we're having building work done or something.
Its just a fact of life in the early days of building up a round.

FTP have you thought about taking someone on part time?
-
Nope, because for nearly three years now I have taken the day off when the weather is bad. I don't want to work in the rain for several reasons. If I employ I will then be forced to work when I don't choose to. My van is set up for me, I don't enjoy the prospect of sharing my cab with anyone so employing would spoil my day. ;D
I don't need any more money so I can't see any point in more hassle to be honest.

I am of the same attitude; money isn't everything. Good post, ftp!
