a tiler has just given me a call to say that he had finished a job and had dropped a small piece of grey tile grout onto the customers new carpet, he didn't know what the carpet was but i think we can guess, probably wool, he vacced up first then tried a bottle of carpets cleaner ::) can still see a stain there. i'm not getting involved, i don't want it to be my problem if it won't come out but has anyone any suggestions? if it were me i would probably try something spirit based, p.o.g. or similar, any ideas?

Am I right in saying grout is a very fine cement which makes it water based, so therefore keeping it damp with water stops it curing which makes it easier to remove, application by application.
This is what I say to people who call saying they've spilt emulsion paint, just keep sraying water on it to keep it damp so it doesn't set.
The big problem with this grout job is that it will have a grey dye in it, and now no doubt 1001, vanish etc etc.
