Post by: rz on November 14, 2009, 07:06:37 pm
i,m after a metal tap fitting for my 650 ltr tank.
at the moment it has a plastic elbow fitting.
the problem i,m having is the fitting is an inch and a quarter.
the only ones i can seem to find are 1 inch.

Is it a good idea to have a tap coming out of the tank, or will the pump and hose end etc be enough to stop flow or sythoning.

yes is a good idea to put a tap on tank outlet, if you have to take pump off, if hose splits, get one you will not regret it

No tap on my 250 Ltr however i needed a tap after the pump as it did costantly drip even with a 'sealing' hoselock connector

windowwashers. thanks, just had a look at purefreedoms site and it comes up error for the only bit i want to look at.   ::)

the reason i want a tap is, without it if any other fitting fails i end up with 650 litres of water finish up over the floor of the van.

thats a very good reason to have a tap, I got now about 5  tap kits for tanks all are metal, can show you a pic tomorrow if you want to see
