Why does each topic end with a slanging match?
I'm absolutely sick to death of it.
Certain individuals have brought this forum down and yet take high moral ground.
Certain individuals claim God-like status which has been gained by their constant need to drivvel on about total cr*p, make inane comments and generally get everyones back up.
Said individuals should look at posts from the likes of John Bolton to see just what type of responses warrant the status.
A difference of opinion on Clean***pros ended with the remark that the discussion should rather take place on Cleanitup. A sad reflection on what the overly opinionated have done to what was once a really good site.
If I need any advice from now on I'll be contacting people personally and no Ron, I won't be needing your contact details.

I'm in total agreement!!
Its a real shame that this forum has gone down hill, a few members have managed to ruin it for the rest of us :(

Hi All
I feel strongly about this >:( as this forum up to only a few weeks ago was a great forum, but now it is becoming a joke :-[

Calm down, it's only a talking shop and much of what you regard as crap, may be someone defending a long held belief, while another's enthusiasm, or newly discovered product / device / market, might get them carried away, for a while.
Remember, some people have seen most of the ' new inovtions ' before, maybe in a different format, or even wearing a different name.
The problem, is often that a convert or dedicated user sometimes overenthuses, and another who has taken a completely different road feels the need to re-dress the balance. It's normal realtime life
Because we are invisible and there is no tangebility we can only use words and in my case type them very slowly.

Case to point was Nicks post last night when Ron was clearly delghted to have a clear explanation given to something and I suspect opened his eyes or mind a little bit.
Not that Ron needs anyone to speak for him
I don't believe the imaginary ' stirrers ' are as neg ative as you might think.

Cheryl,
I think it's called testosterone ;)
Cheers,

With some, you are undoubtedly right, but I seem to be included in this group, at least some of the time, which I find a bit frustrating.
Our brains all work slightly differently and we don't always apreciate, where the other person's views are coming from, so a difference of opinion, becomes an argument from which we are more likely to get a negative rather than a positive outcome.
My personal ' angle ' is simply that, I've been around this industry since 1983 and believe I can offer some balance occasionally, whether it comes accross that way, or not, is another story
happy days

Cheryl, things are not so rosy on general cleaning either. Some of the domestic cleaners on there have me tearing my hair out in frustration, they really are clueless.
-
oh dear perhaps you should stop wallowing and do something about it. like being positive, course its out there you just havent found it.
-
dave my computer is on broadband so its on most og the time logged in. i would love to be not working. but i in fact put in around 10 hours a day. and my wife runs a cleaning company so i look after the kiddies. and yes at least i have some answers. but what have you got to offer. not alot but snipes. it takes a really big man to do that time time time again. sad isent it
-
LMFAO, just had to end in a row didn't it. ::)
-
Whens the next get together ??? We can all thrash out our differences face to face ;D
Paul
Ps, Dave are you not an ex marine or something :o Look out Ron!!!
-
I think ron is a bit blunt sometimes, sometimes he responds to the more aggressive replys with a wind up of his own, other times he talks good sense, and i do think he's more likely to know more about the type of clients the majority of cleaners who post here prob service. The top end of the market is something we should all aim for but its not the biggest part of the market . Don the upholstery wand man who got laughed off this site is now on cleaning pro's and has become a valued poster there ! i think ron's early wind ups got to a lot of you and u can't let go,,take a step back read his post's and only respond if you think he's giving bad advice or you like the topic.

paul dont join in on this sad exploitation of an individual, and so what if he is an ex marine. should we all shutup in the threat or fear of violance.if so we should be in a regime llike iran.or similar countries.still you must be able to say what you want.as i do
-
I agree we should all be able to say what we want, ;D
however wouldnt it be nice if some of it made sense?
or even had a piont!

It always amazes me how passionate CCs are about the work we do. Ive always wondered why this is the case, and wonder if other trades share the same enthusiasm. It is this passion and enthusiasm that leads to conflicts of ideas and beliefs. It is only natural that some topics will wind people up and degrade into heated exchanges. I'm sure the people involved, accept a bit of banter and even place a new topic or a response to one, that they know will cause a bit of a stir, I myself sometimes voice an opinion that I know may be controversal - I then sit back and wait for the reaction, I know others do the same. I simply humour the posts that get a bit tiresome, instead of allowing them to annoy me. Theres always another topic to read.
Dave.

I just find it amusing all the veiled threats of violence all the time,,,its a forum for debate on cleaning,,every cleaning topic should be allowed,if it wasn't for ron then this would have been a microplitting ,allerg stop forum by now,and personally i find some of the posts entertaining,i'm on the other 2 forums too but this is prob the most entertaining.

In that case Ron stop talking crap in every other post, you obviously do have some good things to say but ruin it by rubbing people up the wrong way!! cleanitup is no longer what it used to be, this is a shame as I for one learnt a great deal and made a number of friends from this forum :(
I wont be suprised if a few more of the old boys up sticks and only use other forums.

Matt,
It was a Joke ;D

Yeah fair enuff Paul,
There's been a lot of threats recently tho, i shouldn't think ron takes it too seriously, after all you can't do much through a computer screen !
Plus violence is ignorance and i bet its not rons blood pressure that is running high !

The reason, some post end up in a slanging match is because a lot of people on this board actually know what they are talking about and can smell bull excrement when they see it.
there has been a lot of rubbish posted over the last few weeks and some people can't sit back and accept it.
theres a prime example of B/S been written at the moment on the 'price comfrontation' topic.

we are all in the same game.now allthough i dont agree with everything that is said on here,i still value any knowledge that people pass on to me.If we are all completely honest none of us know everything and we are all learning constantly.it must be better to try and help people that are asking for it than to just keep having goes at each other.it is easy to be tough through a keyboard but what are you going to do if you meet, have a fight, somehow i doubt it.you will probally stand there feeling awkward and slightly stupid.Don`t get me wrong i`m as opinionated as the next person but wouldn`t put anything on here i wouldn`t say face to face.Come on lads sort it out.

In spite of many posts on here, being regarded as hostile and unwelcome, I think there's a good deal of positjve banter taking pkace, no different from what might take place in a pub, or even between workers, on sight.
We tend to work alone, much of the time and self regulate, with little, or no, day to day criticism / observation from anyone.
This board gives the opportunity for, like minded individuals to exchange banter, or craec ( probably misspelt ) as they say in Ireland / Scotland
I say let it flow, provided that noone gets too personal.

Hi Matt,
Have there really been genuine threats made on the forum?? I take it the mods soon deleted them as I didnt see anything ??? I agree though this isnt the place for threats but I can see the temptation at times :) lol!!
