Fellow cc's
Could anybody tell me the best method for removing washing up liquid from a wool carpet. Green fairy washing liquid that is!
Thanks

Plenty de foam in your waste tank and flush the fairy liquid out of the carpet with plain water.

Mix some de-foamer in a hand sprayer apply to the area, then rinse with plain water with plenty of de-foamer in the hoses/wastetank

Thanks chaps,
I have de foamed and rinsed several times with water and guess what its not budging. Any other ideas. The stain has been there about a week.

Any idea how much was spilt?. could be that it has soaked into the underlay as well. You will just need to keep flushing until it is gone. Are you using hot water that might help?
-
Might be a solid floor underneath the carpet and underlay too so it might be trapped so might need some more work.
Have you looked under the carpet might be worth it ???

Could be a wicking problem. Was it an accidental spill or was the customer perhaps using fairy liquid in an attempt to remove a stain or something.
-
Using a "waterclaw" might be useful as a way of extracting over a large-ish area whilst safely leaving the suction in place for a few minutes.

If the washing up liquid has been applied to the carpet neat or spilt then due to its high ph and strength the wool fibres will be seriously degraded and probably stained from the green colouring. Wouldn't try to be a hero and would walk away.

Agree with John here .Tell her to go through her insurance , if there is colouring in the carpet , doubt if you will get it out after a week .

Thanks everbody,
I sadly had to walk away in defeat from this one and told the customer to claim on there insurance. Many thanks for all your advice. Bring on the xmas rush im still waiting!
