wfp is awesome on leaded. clean as normal, maybe up the flow a bit. first time a really really good scrub and rinse. sometimes the lead strips can be weathered and then cause spots and runs. i do a few leaded and most came up good first time. a couple of panes took a few cleans longer.

i also do flats like what you decribe. i just get on with it and dont worry about the flat below. if they dont want me to clean there's as well. then its tough
 ;D

is it original leaded or replacement leaded?

i have a really old manor house on my round that has a mix of both, the replacement panels with upvc frames are absolutely fine, however, the originals, which are VERY old, need to be treated with tlc. Some can be wfp with very low flow, and some flex so much that they set the house alarm off, so a mist of pure water and a gentle polish with a microfibre works really well.

with really old leaded windows i use the gardiners flocked brush very soft bristles ideal and gently clean no need for cloths

mop up- squeejee off in straight pulls- wipe off excess with a damp scrim or sill cloth if not too bad, then buff up with an unger microfibre (or dry scrim)

whatever you use to wipe the sills with, is a sill cloth.
might be an idea to use a different cloth, instead of mucking up the m/fibres
