Hi guys I'm hoping to be trading soon and I'm now thinking about maketing,Ive been offered a 5cm x 3 column advert in a local free paper at £45.
Any ideas about what should and shouldn't be written in the ad?
I was thinking about putting something like Thorough and Safe Cleaning.
Do you think that using these words might cast doubt that cleaning can be unsafe ect.
Thanks

Plus wayne you will prob get all the half price merchants with there add next to yours ::)

Wayne, if you go with it just keep it simple. Do not try and cram too much in or they will not be able to read it.

HEADER
"Professional Carpet Cleaning"
*Fully trained and insured
*Local family run business
*85% of work comes from personal recommendation
*Not always the cheapest but always the best
Use bullet points, keep it simple and not crammed, use a landline number not a mobile alone. Keep the company name/logo small at the bottom of the ad it is the least important thing people need to know.
Good luck Mark
Did you get the insurance sorted out mate?
-
The reason why I was doing it was because in the last issue - its one of those freebies given away in Asda and Tesco ect - there wasn't a single ad for a CC.Every othr trade was covered but no CC's
Hi Mark, not yet will sort it tomorrow.Did you get that text about that job I did on Sunday, very happy customer apparently :)

if you get one call i'll show my R's in woolies window, oops, i mean argos.
seriously, don't do it.
i've said my bit, i'll shut up now and say no more on the subject,

ps... £45 will get you 3 to 5000 leaflets and you can shove them in peoples faces and make them see it.

Wayne for £45 go for it, if its works then brill, if not its not the end of the world.
I would do some homework and find out if there is any small local mags that get delivered once a month they work really well in my area.

£45 for a free paper sounds expensive.
We have one round here that is very popular and goes
to around 45,000 homes, I pay £17 plus the dreaded
per week and land 2 or 3 jobs a week from it.
Strangely it's only free in certain areas and some people
have to buy it but it is well written and very popular.
My other ad goes in all the local newspapers that has an
audience of, so the paper tells me, 90,000.
That's £34 inc the dreaded and I get 5 or 6 from it and
about the same again in calls.
Both ads are the same and are 4x3 box.

You doing well if you get so many calls from your ads.
-
Thats a good return from your paper add john..
Maybe invest in a website wayne as you will get work from it even on the natural listings :)
-
i get 1.3 jobs a week from my paper adverts. and for those who will obviously say, "how do you get point three of a job?"
i average 4 jobs every 3 weeks.

Yes get quite a good response but 80% of them are minimum charge jobs.
Seem to get the bigger jobs from Google.
