Title: Help needed on quote
Post by: TC1 on November 06, 2009, 10:45:53 pm
Hi Guys, I am quoting this job, but really not sure how much to charge as I have only cleaned domestic conservatory roofs so far.

I cleaned the 3 panels as a demo for them and it took me about 30 mins,

Thanks,

Tony

How long did it take to clean 3 panels?

I would charge between 50p and £1 per panel

£5 per panel, I have just counted 47 panels, so round it up to £250 it looks like a good days work, if it takes 10mins per panel.

I'd want £300 on the basis that the first 3 panels took 30 mins,  to be honest though it wouldn't bother me If I didn't get it.

If it takes about 10 minutes a panel, why can't you work out a quote? Why did you spend 30 mins. Why didn't you just do the worst one then work it out from there?  Have I missed something here guys? ???

I miss counted, 64 panels, that would be £320, I would round it to £350.
It will take you about 11-12 hours, thats if each panel takes 10mins.

£300 for 47 panels x 10mins a panel = 8 hours work/£300 = £38 per hour! wheres the job! I'd do it if you don't want to  :D

Where did you get the extra panels, he only asked for the roof panels.
the 2 pitched roof areas, 64 panels.

As I haven't undertaken any commercial work, as still new, I wasn't sure about pricing
(didn't want to under sell myself) and the reason I cleaned 3 panels, I think the cleanliness stands out more.
I approached them about having it cleaned and thought if they see how good it loks then they will go for it! :)

Lol I guestimated slightly more than 47 panels but based my quote on £30 an hour that's what I'd want anyway. :)

I'm only about 15 mins from this job, and I'm sure they want a quality job, which is why I wanted to charge the right price, they also have a number of other properties with a similar problem, so didin't want to price myself out either!

Looked at you website, looks good and like the quote on your pricing policy!  ;)

Thanks again for your help!

Tony

about £3  apanel is a good price as it stands

all depends on the size of panel
whether £3 a panel is good or not
