Post by: concept on November 06, 2009, 12:38:02 pm
What do use to protect your hose reel base from damaging the van floor? Mine has gradually worn away the protecktacote and down to bare metal now! :(

mines bolted down and no problems, i presume you mean its scratching and scraping the van floor as you take it in and out?

when i had mine this way i bought 4 velcro straps from b and q...

strapped each one to the 4 corners of the reel base, and that worked a treat, it also stopped it from sliding around in the van whilst driving.

i really don't get all this reel on the outside of the van business. it seems a lot slower process to me.

maybe get some rubber matting simon. and lay the hose reel on top of that

I know what you mean steve, but at the minute it works for me, well, excluding getting a black eye from the rectus fitting flicking up, and cracking my elbow on the van door lol.
