Title: Emloying staff as self employed

Evening guys,
 Im new to this site and was after some advice.I currently have my own clientelle of cleans..enough to keep me going  ;) Ive recently gained two and struggling as Im resticted to what hours I can do.Im seriously thinking about taking somebody else on , and was wondering what yours views , or wether anybodys ever taken anybody else on ...self employed, and how does this work ?

You give them some work and then you pay them, simple as.

However; you will have to PROVE that they are self-employed by making sure you personally are not the only person who pays them to do a job. They need to have at least TWO people paying them. This is how a lot of agencies work, the client pays the staff the hourly rate and pays the agency the agency-fee seperatly.

There are also other complications, like if the staff use your equipment and uniforms, as this may tip the balance in the favour of the 'employed' status as opposed to 'self employed' .

Much easier to just employ them and be done with it, it's the only way you can grow your business properly without worrying

That really all depends though on how reliable this extra work is and how much money you have behind you  :-\

have you not thought of advertising for someone to do your work , when they apply  you can give them a contract that matches the time you have the work contracted for and get them to invoice you for an agreed amount monthly , as far as equipment goes you  sell them your equipment at a modest fee . they then are self employed with a quarenteed contract for a fixed term . basically sub contract the work . for your contract security put in terms where the worker cannot canvass any work that you supply for a given time after your contract finishes .
