Just a reminder to all those considering new equipment. Vat goes back up to 17.5% in Jan 2010 so if you are thinking of getting some new kit now is the time. saved over £100 on new machines, not a fortune but it all adds up, Same for your chems don't forget. Not much use if you're vat registered but those that are not would make a saving ;D

Good point Simon.

Buy a machine for £ 2000.00 inc vat now and you save £50.00. That brings it down to £1950.00
Then....Its a capital asset so you can have tax relief over 3 years.

£1950 divide by 3 = £650 comes off your annual turnover. So that’s £182 ish relief off the value of the machine per annum.

In reality the machine has cost you after 3 years £1404.00 to buy.  :)
