been asked to quote some graffiti tags. 6 tags around 2 sq metres each. i usually charge around £80 for one tag inc my traveling costs and overheads which can take an hour to do. should i quote the same for each tag or a bit less as there are 6? also do i need to have criminal record check before workng on school?

also is there anything else i need to be weary of working on a school? any problems etc? what time is best to do the work?

As for prices I do not know , but if you do the work outside school hrs then the H&S problems are less and CRB are not required

I would definatly do the work when there are no kids there.
I clean some school windows and that is bad enough. But when you're dealing with graffiti removal chemicals its not worth the risk.

i price at £120 that includes up to 6m of cleaning anything above 6ms is £15 per metre

I guess you may have to carryout H&S checks etc. come up with rist assesment, because if you are working with children and it involves chemicals. As to CRB check, its always good to have it for any job, i've been told it makes you look more professional and local govs and any public establishments often like to see it, for the sake of 35-50 pounds it's worth having it.

If any one read my previous post i apologise, :-[ been up since half free my eyes are stuck to the screen and fingers refusing to type, but i have alot of work to do so cannot afford to go to bed :)

Dash T is right, a CRB is cheap and it gives you a bit more credability, we have got jobs just on the basis of having a CRB when the others quoting for the job havnt.

i quoted £250 as the job is 20 miles away from me. i estimated it would take me 4 hours or more. does this sound cheap or dear?

I would have aid a tad cheap really. But it depends if you need the work really

i do need the work richy. but yet again i have heard no reply from my quote. you just never know whether they think its too cheap or too dear. i give up with commercial pricing.

What chemicals are you using for graffiti removal? are they expensive? If so, you need to price well.

I think if the kids are going to be there at the time then you need a CRB check but if it is out of school hours then you don't need one... could be wrong. It definately looks more credible to have one though IMO.

Not sure if it is still the case but you cannot obtain a crb check for yourself.

It all depends what surface its on too ... and what colour. that detirmins the price too

i got the school job he just phoned me. :)
i just hope the gel gets off gold spray paint.
richy have you had good success with all types of colours of spray paint with the gel?

no im doing job in morning its all sorts of coloures spray paint. what type of pressure washing are you doing mark at mo?

if it has been on brickwork for a long time the solve is good. do you have any?

its omly been on for a week? i dont have solve i have the gel and ghosting remover and crete!!

I find the solve does a good job. But if it has only been there a week the gel should work nicely

cheers richy im doing it at 7.00am in morning so will let you know how long job takes etc :)

job done in 3 and a half hours 2 people. the black spray paint was a devil to get off had to use wire brush but all in all the headmaster was happy and im happy. :)
