I have to do a quote for approx 300 meters of gutters very green. How much would you charge to clean outsides with fascias and soffits. I intend to do by hand off a ladder all easy access but would like to get a pole for the apex. Which pole and brush would you suggest, cheap as possibly
Many thanks in advance
Justin

how high??
wcw backpack
and xtel pole
job done :)

If i was you i would sub it to a wfp worker , easier and safer for him to dit than you off a ladder and you could make a bit for doing nothing , re price ..... do it on how long it would take for a wfp worker eg: 1 days work = wfp subbie day rate + what you want to make on top. 8)

I have to clean out the gutters anyway and that quote is already agreed as i have done them for the last couple of years £ 175.00 normaly takes a Morning. This year they are debating having the outsides done and the window cleaner who uses water fed pole is not interested. I run a grounds maintenance business and seem to do more and more gutters so a small investment would be worth while i think.

small di vessel for making water
wcw backpack
xtel pole
google window cleaning warehouse
all on there
its all yo will need mate :) for cleaning outside of gutters
plus you could also offer cleaning of fascias, sofits, cladding and upvc :)

Surely I got that wrong?? 300 mtrs Of very green gutters for £175??
-
Sounds to me like a wfp cleaner would get that done quicker than off ladders. 300 metres is alot of ladder movements.
As a wfp guy i would use the deepclean tfr and spray the lot. Then wfp from the start.
Where abouts are you ? maybe someone local to you would give you a price fro the job. I'd be interested in subbing it if you werent too far away

Thats for clearing the gutters out, not cleaning the fascias, soffits and guttersing (visual)

Where is the job?

I think they may as well be done by hand I will just get a pole and brush to reach the apex and a couple of awkard areas. I was thinking £2 a meter so approx £600 plus £175 to clear out Total cost £775 ish. Do you think thats enough I reckon 2 days work
-
£2 a metre sounds an ok price for 300m. Ive never done it off ladders though, but for wfp sounds about right

thanks craig b, As far as i see it I can add this service onto my business as a winter extra for a small outlay. A new mower costs approx £700 and I can have a new branch to my business for under £500. I am not interested in doing windows at present but I get a few guttering jobs every year and they pay very well. This would give me a wet day job ontop of clearing the gutters out for a very good profit. If I buy a pole I could offer gutters, fascias, soffits and conservatory cleaning. There is a lot of this sort of work available around me.

your like vultures trying to put the guy off ....trying to sniff round the work if he wanted to subb it he would have asked...
was just trying to get an idea of where the job was, so we could advise what could be charged.....chill! ::)

Hi h2rose
the job is in devon near exeter

if your going to do conservatorys i would think about a back pack as not all customers have out side taps but you could wait until you come across this problem..and if your going to splash out on a pole i would look at brodex new hydra pole..
i carry a hose lock hose reel in my van for washing the out side of gutters...i find ther isnt enough pressure with wfp its ok for maintenance cleans ...
What pressure do you need for cleaning gutters and fascias wfp ?
tfr on, brush off and rinse. same as windows... you dont need to blast it
-
What i do with those drips from the bottom of fascia and soffits is put a scrim over the end of the pole brush and give it a quick wipe ( a tip i got from someone on here) works a treat.
£2 a metre is a fair price i think mate
-
Yeah i wipe the drips off with a towel over the brush... dont do ladders myself... i sub out the gutter clears to my brother.
-
I am thinking of getting a packback and the other bits after Christmas. How much do you think I would need to pay?
-
a mate of mine uses one of those one way valve set ups that you see on the telly shopping channels that pumps water up the hose automatically .
