www.omni-guttervac.com

depends on what you need the vac for, if you get the top system it will cover for near on every job.

if I take the gutter van out to jobs I take a generator. I can also take a invertor should I need to, the vac I have is 110 as not to stop me going on site or using it on commercial work, 110v I am covered.

are you saying you run it from your van with a power inverter ? ? ? ? ?

Really you need the vac to be close at hand so you can cut the power fairly quickly should you get a blockage or when you want to suck and dump a damaged tile. The longer the hose the more there is to block up. Extension lead is far easier to tug about than metres of suction hose.

Has anyone thought about looking for a petrol powered Vac?
I see some videos on Youtube use a petrol powered vacuum.

Matt... Thought about it myself.

2 options I know of....

Hand held 33cc petrol blower / vac

Or

Push along 5.0hp leaf vacuum

People have said the first one won't work, but no one has said they have tried it. Might just see if I can knock something together.

The second option is large and probably heavy

Isn't that what the Upkeeper is? Trouble is if you build your own I expect whoever designed the Upkeeper will come on here, threaten to sue you and generally abuse you.
Can't wait.  ;D

well which ever 1 you decide to go for you might be waiting a long time as ive been waiting for ionics to come and give me a demo for the last 3 weeks got fed up of waiting so decided to order a complete omni-vac system only to be told their waiting for parts and dont know when they will be arriving :'(   im starting to think if its worth bothering , shame as i have worked lined up for it

The petrol powered ones don't work as they give high volume of air flow, but not enough "Water Lift" because of the relatively huge size of the blower unit.

A properly designed machine would use a petrol engine with a gearbox to drive 3 smaller blowers the same size as used in an electric vac. A bit of engineering is involved in that though,.. and some patents and IP protection would be a good idea too! ;)
