I have the tomtom 300. It has full 7 digit postcode search and street name search for the whole of europe.
The best thing is it tells me(and warns) of all the speed cam locations including the mobile van ones which is usefull.

Saves so much time, you will never look back once you have one.

I bought a Navman icn

Had it replaced twice. It didn't find MOST streets etc.
I then took it back and got a TomTom go, and its excellent.

Go to Comet and have a look at the Acer N35 PDA £249.00. Does everything the TomTom does and more (and costs less money!)

Got tomtom 5 on a pda. Tomtom do not supply ANY disks, but send prog on a sd card.
Had trouble with pda locking up, solved that with a bios upgrade, but tom tom program locks up occasionaly. Otherwise great bit of kit, beats looking at maps while driving ;D ;D ;D
