Title: PLI
Post by: Milltown Cleaning on October 30, 2009, 02:53:17 pm
trying to sort out PLI  at the minute. All my work at the minute is residential, of course in the future i want to get some domestic work. i know that domestic contracts often require £5 or £10million cover.

What i want to know is for domestic work, would £1million cover do to start with? i could then amend this as i need to.

Isn't it a legal requirement in the UK to have adequate insurance cover for your business?
In Ireland the general opinion is anyone uninsured is a cowboy! PL is cheap,.. I pay less than €2 per day (€600 per annum) for 6.5 million cover,.. and in the UK it is even cheaper.

My personal opinion,.. if you're not insured then you're not serious about your business.

prowindow ur probably right.i think i should if its that cheap for a year!i dont see what could happen though?im cleaning windows not using chainsaws on their trees!the odd broken plant pot and roof tiles.caught my ladders on a sky dish once and gave her the money for a new one.i dont leave ladders near cars for instance when its windy!i use trad poles a lot on dodgy windows and work steady and relaxed.as for leaving soaping water for the o.a.ps to slip on i dont have my T MOP that wet or chuck my bucket of water on their pathways!

NATHANAEL JONES ur probably right.i dont take my business as seriously as some on here.i think i will get PLI and logo d shirts, van and WFP.Im learning a lot since ive logged into this site.ive never been much of a businessman.doesnt mean i cant change though at 38 and 15 yrs TRAD cleaning under my belt.in the past i played drums for various bands and never put 100per cent into the business but ive given up the rock n roll lifestyle for good!my pricing has got a lot better since coming on here with u lot!!

best wishes to u all

1-5 million PLI is simple enough but to get 10 million i had to go for underwriten 5 million which in total cost me alot more.

PLI 5 million
underwriten 5 million
sort of like 2 policys
Anyone know a easyier way to get 10 million please let me know ;)
