Title: Advise on buying wfp set up
Post by: Ben Peters on October 30, 2009, 12:00:07 pm: Ok so i am deciding on a wfp set up and think i am going to go with the self build system from pure freedom which to me (totally new to wfp) looks a decent set up...

Has any one on here bought the system or does any one have any knowledge/opinions on it?

Was speaking to a guy at PF on the fone and he said it will do soft and moterately hard water, at the minute i have no idea if my water is hard or soft is there any test i can do to check without having a tds meter?

It comes with a 250l tank, does any one have any idea how long that system would take to fill, i no tap pressure plays a part but say average pressure?

What area are you in ? someone might be local who can give you a rough idea on the local tds

Pressure can vary massivley, a window cleaner who lives 800 yards from me has a great pressure where as mine is complete rubbish

If you have limescale on your taps etc, then you are in a hard water area and I would advise getting a water softener as well. This will prolong the life of your filters.

Ah right what system are you going for then mate? how long do you reckon it will take to clean the tank....

i dont think my tap water is to hard but i would really need to test it...

Anyone got the set up i might go and get?

Post by: dazmond on October 30, 2009, 06:41:45 pm: dont do it ben!!it will be a waste of money.loads of hassle.youll lose quite afew custys.youll end up with a bad neck,elbow,shoulders.pumps breaking down,hoses snagging on everything.oh youll end up with a bad back then theres the increased overheads,water EVERYWHERE!and u will ALWAYS leave some spots and runs on some windows.flakey paint,oxidised frames a nightmare.hose ruining plants and shrubs,dragging it thru cat/dog muck and did i mention bird muck,insect poo,pollen etc.wont clean that off v.well at all BUT im going to try it next year with vanmount and backpack ;) ;) ;D ;D

Im based in co cavan ireland dont think anyone on here from there!
