Title: Website building for beginners - whats the best software package

I know a few of you guys build websites, I'm looking to purchase some software but want to start with something fairly basic where no HTML is required.

I've seen a few that get pretty good reviews the 2 main ones are:

Web easy 8 Professional

&

Mr site takeaway website

Both packages are around the £30 - £40 mark and both offer a pro edition that takes the cost up to about £90 and from what I can see the upgrade allows some SEO, meta tags and the like plus more space.

Have any of you guys had a go with similar software with any joy ?

If anyone can offer some advice before I part with my pennies I'd be grateful.

For the time and effort, I would hire a professional designer in your UK area, or I know a few guys on this board offers web design including myself. Do what you do best, unless you do have the time and effort to put into it. If your in a rural area, then yes you will be able to target your areas with some knowledge after a few months but a high competitve area will be hard and you may have to hire someone.

And these days, its not what you really do on your website much, but what you do offsite.

Look into a easy CMS system like joomla/wordpress and etc. But even still, your gonna need to hire a graphic designer if your not satisfied with the colors/header/etc.

Again, with what you can make in 1-2 of cleaning carpets can be to hire a professional to have it completed within 7 days for you and you dont have to worry about a thing.

Take a good look at many websites done by the owner vs Professionals, its kinda like the Rug Doctor vs Truckmount, night and day difference. With whatever you do, make sure the website is clean, easy to navigate, has your phone # easy to read, contact forms, galleries and etc. Yes the main thing is to get it ranked high as possible, but if your website is junky looking, how you do you think the customer may feel if a website is not professional looking......they might think the cleaning company isnt either.....even though if its ranked?

brilliant

i built a website in a day, needs some tweeks here and there and still got a lot to learn but what ive done so far is well good, they also have free support if you get stuck, i've only rang once and they were very helpful.

certaily recommend

I've started doing my own flyer designs of late and I've had a good response, I enjoy getting a bit creative so thought I'd have a go at a website, I'll take a look at your suggestions.

Have you launched it yet ? hows it ranking on google searches, can you do much to influence the SEO side ? Does it include everything, even hosting ? Can I take a look !

Xsite Pro. easier than an easy thing and you can do anything with it.

Get Nathanel to do ya one, not a lot more, will look good and be optimised, had me ranked well after a week.

Basic & easy to use. Free to download and trial for 30 days I think, did a couple of sites in that time. Then works out approx. £30 to register to keep using to keep your website updated.
