Title: wcPRO
Post by: Clive McDonald on October 28, 2009, 10:23:52 am
How do i get the worksheet to scroll up the screen so i can see all of it?

If i go to end of day this aspect is okay, but on the worksheet i can only ever see a few jobs and not all of them on the screen. Can anyone advise me on this?

Hi
You can view all the worksheet by using the slider bar (on the right of the worksheet). You can also enlarge the worksheet area by increasing/decreasing its size by clicking, holding and dragging the line(s) just above the worksheet buttons (middle of the Schedule screen), this obviously has an effect on the upper half of the screen.

That checks out thanks.

How can i make the worksheet order the jobs in date order. For example the work sheet is untill sunday, but some friday saturday jobs appear before the thursday ones?

I see that i am able to change the job order and that feature looks great, i just wondered if there was a way other than doing a seperate worksheet for each day.

Am i correct in assuming that once a job is on a worksheet it will not appear on another. Ie i have three worksheets open and one is for thursday, so these thursday jobs will not appear on later worksheets unless i delete this work sheet?
This is okay, i just checking if this is correct.

I've just been setting up a worksheet for each day, and adding that days work (he said, as he realized he was explaining the obvious)

Hi, if you click on the Due Date header at he top of the worksheet (mid screen) it will sort the jobs into date order (1 click will put them into earliest-latest and 2 clicks latest-earliest). You can also click on Job Order (bottom left under worksheet) and 'drag and drop' the jobs into whatever order you want them

Jobs will only appear in a worksheet once (i assume you mean if you allocate a Round to a worsksheet rather than individual jobs), if you then Remove the job it will appear back in the Schedule section above the worksheet section and you can the allocate it to another worksheet but you cannot replicate the same job on multiple worksheets.

From what i have seen on data conversions a lot of people split their rounds into area's....North Bilchester, South Bilchester, Hammerpot & Flipton etc. Some use Day1Week1, Day2Week1 and so on. I think a lot depends on how your own mind seperates your workload, every one seems to have a different way to do it.

hiya, i'm considering getting wcp for next april.

I plan my work by looking at everything that is due and making up the best, most profitable run for the next day.

is there a diary view so you can easily move jobs from day to day like in george (drag and drop would be great!)?

i've not downloaded the free trial yet, I plan to really check out wcp at windex.

thanks

you can view all jobs, and tick off what you want and add them to new worksheet.

so no more moving jobs backwards and forwards? sound good!

for those who have switched mid financial year, is it easy to print off your income for different rounds for parts of the year?

You just have half of your own accounts that youve already done then click print on wcp  ;)

Youll have to do a bit extra this year with you starting half way through year but no big issue really

Hi Dave...If you want to download the free trial i can convert your George data to a Window Cleaner Pro database file so you can trial it with live data that you are familiar with. That way you can 'play' with it and run it alongside George, from the feedback we are getting recently from users of other software packages i am sure you will find WCP easier, more functional and potentially a time and money saver for your business.

At the risk of sounding pushy i think if you wait till Windex you will kick yourself for not taking the plunge and trying WCP earlier. Yes, it will seem strange and different for the first few days of using it but as you get used to it you will see its benefits...Ian and i are always available showuld you get stuck or have any questions (Brad@windowcleanerpro.com)

Best regards
Brad

What i have done, today, is seperate my one big round into four seperate rounds by area. Area one, two, three, and then the local area by name.

So i will open four work sheets for a week, print them off in date order and work from them the best i can.I used to print one list and do the rest in my head. This will be easier for me.

Any comments?

I spoke to a customer yesterday who does the same sort of thing. He said he prints all his at the beginning of the week and he changes the worksheet names to the date (click on the worksheet tab to change the name) i.e. Mon 2 Nov 09, Tue 3 Nov 09 etc. He then uses a clipboard and ticks jobs done, payments etc. and keeps them in a box-file in his van. He reckons its really useful if a customer questions dates cleaned etc. as he gets the file out and shows them, because they are dated he says 'they dont have a leg to stand on!'

Click on tools- list maintenance - from the list box choose payment types- then add - and enter what you want it to be.

on the worksheet can i get it to print the frequency (ie how many weeks)?

This is because i am allways trying to fill my day up, and feel better about being a day early for an eight week than a four week.

I had the same situation. I emailed them direct from the website, that's probably your quickest way of getting a reply. also if they agree, they can convert your george files to wcp friendly format.

WCP will not run on a Mac unless you run it through a Windows emulator
