Title: probing butts
Post by: ftp on October 27, 2009, 05:34:28 pm
Today on my rounds I've been dipping customers water butts to see what the tds readings are in my area. Lowest reading was 20ppm and the highest reading was 35ppm. Most of the butts I looked in were pretty grubby to be honest. I reckon with a filter my rainwater would be quite reasonable. Better than the 380ppm out of the tap.

I intend to go partially down the rainwater harvesting route shortly to supplement my water supply. So I was interested to know what kind of tds water was reading in custies water butts. I was hoping it would be even lower than the readings I had.

The next thing you will probably be doing is dipping your pole in your customer to see how sweet she is. ;D ;D ;D

If you had yourdown spout with some filter to stop the crap coming down and then a resin vessel, would it feed through it into the tank. If it did that would be great.
