hi guys after some advice. shopping center clean (slabbed areas)every six months not sure on the sq meters yet the full plan pack is in the post ;D roughly 2000 ish have been to look at it today. access is good lighting etc good as i think the job will have to be done at night high traffic area.
i have cold 3000psi and flat surface cleaner turbo nozzel etc but will it be man enough ?? or should i invest in new kit ??or sub it??
what do you think £2.00 a sqm ???

Have done some myself recently - to be really effective hot is better
We zapped all chewing gum with turbo nozzle on hot water and flat surfaced area with cold pressure afterwards.
At regular intervals cleaned up excess chewing gum removed by turbo.
£2:00 PER M is what we were getting.
We manage to do 800- 1000 sqm per night dual operators- working throughout the night.

so if you were doing it on your own you would charge £1 a sq metre if two of you were charging £2.00 a sq metre?
-
how hot water can you use thru a turbo nozzle?

you will definately need hot water to remove the gum, a cheap way of upgrading your kit would be to buy an hot box that turns your cold wash into an hot one other than that sub it out. How many piecrs of chewing gum is there per square metre your price will depend on the amount of gum.
another thing to take into consideration is the drainage and whether the water is likely to go under the doorways into the shops if this happens you will have lots of complaints so make sure you have wet vacs or squeggees and an extra man to stop this happening.

i would not do that if on my own still £2.00 a sq meter.hi guys after some advice. shopping center clean (slabbed areas)every six months not sure on the sq meters yet the full plan pack is in the post ;D roughly 2000 ish have been to look at it today. access is good lighting etc good as i think the job will have to be done at night high traffic area.

cheers trevor probably rent a hot washer or as i say buy one.
the amount of gum very little at the moment its on a new 7 million pound shopping development not finished yet. not all the slabs are down. good drainage and a good slope from all the door ways etc.
very tidy web site you have there just the job ;)

as stated we were doing 800-1000sqm per night @£2.00- two men working 8 hrs
Temp was around 120 degrees
We managed to clean up as we went and took into account all the considerations of drainage etc.
We had a stand pipe linked to water tank in vehicle to maintain flow of water- had to considered impact on traffic etc still operating in the town centre.
we utillised a hot box to upgrade our cold water system.
We now have an ifor trailer with two 600 ibc tanks secured for water supply.
Considerations are can the pressure hoses etc cope with temp
Lances etc
We had problems initially - but we managed to overcome these
Have the shopping centre imposed a time limit on clearance -eg we were tasked with 1000sqm per night

where can you buy a hot box from?
