Hi
just wondered how to price up my business if any one can help id be grateful.
I use Ionic Thermopure Reach and Wash 600l in transit van.
Got 2 24ft poles, small 12ft for downstairs, 65ft pole, thermohose, reel squeegees ladders scrims etc. All the equipment realy for trad and wfp. Machine only 2years old and serviced every year. Income is 4500 each month and all done with wfp.
Thanks Ryan

The business is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Price the up the equipment seperately as you may need to seperate this from the round when selling. Ask Platinum for the value of the round as he seems to get rediculous stupid prices for his rounds so he might be able to sell it for you.
-
Speak to your accountant.
does he clean windows as well :o :o :o
-
That could be a good idea pricing up seperate never thought of that and the price of the rounds is a difficult one as 3quarters are compact and others bits and bats but the company has a good rep and regularly pick new customers from word of mouth.
-
lol no she wouldnt be up to the cold days lol
-
I doubt any accountant cleans windows Stan, but I bet they can value a window cleaning business more accurately than you.
;) ;) ;) ;)
-
Are you after selling up? or just to get a value? If after selling up there are loads of people wanting window cleaning rounds. Just read the past posts, items for sale and cleaning contracts.
-
LOL, done some good deals then Stan ;D
are you working for the taxman ;D ;D ;D
-
id be after about 40 k mate, without the van if its good work sounds it if your turning that alone??
-
Accountants know f all about pricing window cleaning rounds. Can you put a price on good will ??? a good accountant would advise you from buying good will.
-
sean i have someone on full time and pay him 250 a week he happy with that at 19. We get the work done each week. Most are pretty easy to do. Im considering selling to answer the other question.
-
what area you in mate
-
you in Barnsley
-
40k withiout the van? You sure? Well if thats the case if you know anyone whos interested let me know on 07786262326. Im in the barnsley area.
-
Try advertising it on here, ebay, www.wforsale.com and www.windowcleaningroundforsale.co.uk.
Rember window cleaning rounds are in DEMAND!!!!!
-
rwc yes from barnsley mate. How you know? lol. and thanks windy miller will have a look.
-
I know everything about everyone ;) no one gets passed me, good luck mate if it was nearer to me I would of been interested ;D
-
I never said anything about not needing an acountant, ive had 3-4 different accountants through different businesses and each one advised me the same. dont buy good will. Obviously a window cleaning business is good will.
Why would you want to sell up, compact cleaning rounds are much sought after.
-
just had enough to be honest. got to the stage where i want to do something else.
-
come on rwc how do you no?
-
Window cleaning is goodwill !! im picking up about 5 - 8 jobs a week without any effort.
In window cleaning there is no contracts binding the customer to your company so it is classed as good will, this is especially the case in domestic work. If you had contracts then it would not be classed as good will.
How many window cleaners have contracts binding the customer to you ???

-
Funny thing is there filming the Brighton Rock film here, theyve made our pier look like Brightons,
-
If I was buying it I wouldnt pay no more then x7 to be honest, you could break it up into smaller rounds and sell it that way.
-
Platinum or pcnw is the man to ask as he seams to get a higher prices for his rounds than anybody else on this forum. Either B*llsh*t or a very good sales person. £40, 000 seams a lot in the recession. you might be better off splitting the rounds to get better prices for them.
-
i thought it was too much. only problem with selling them seperate is selling the van and machine then. just thought together its a good business to buy into. But i get what your saying.
-
Why are you selling mate if you dont mind me asking
-
i want todo something else. my mate owns auto cosmetics which sprays cars, fixes dints ect and i got a chance to buy into it and ive helped him out before and realy enjoyed it only started window cleaning because i was given a round when i was leaving school by our cleaner and it went on from there. done well out of it so cant complain but not something i want todo 4eva if you no what i mean
-
if any1 was interested i would go round and help them first time to introduce them and let the customers know. got uniforms and everything as well

Cant you have staff do it for you, just incase you dont enjoy the new adventure then youve got something to fall back on, theres someone on here who was doing something similar but came to windows from cars as the recession had a real affect on his trade, Tony his name is I think, and plenty of others on here left the trade only to come back when it wasnt brighter on the other side but have found it harder the 2nd time round, just make sure its right matey.
Chris
-
Thanks for advice mate you have a good point. but my mate is busy he struggles to get decent staff and its not a bad earner but thanks
-
I would keep the round and employ staff and do your new venture extra income is far better than a lump sum
-
There was someone on here that sold rounds in the Brighouse area, thats near you isnt it.
-
Thats near huddersfield i think.
-
If you was near me, I would happily pay £30k. Just over a years work after living on minimum wage.
As said I think you would get the best prices in smaller bundles. Im not saying this through experiance as I have none in selling work, But as a logic point of view.
R W C, Seriously on the case!! Then seeing next to your name that quote and the finger!! :D
Good luck with what ever you decide to do with your work mate.
-
windymiller thats total rubbish, dont buy good will. ???
most businesses are good will, cafe, dry cleaners, garages, builders , accountant ect ect ect
if you buy any business ou have to be prepeared and make sure you contine to keep your CUSTOMERS HAPPY.
even if buy a business with contracts if you do not live up to expectations they will have ways of getting out them.
-
Ronnie, im not getting into an arguement about this all, im just going off accountants advice ive had in the past off about 4 different accountants and they all seam to agree and told me not to buy good will.
Ronnie are all your domains pointing to the same website? or are they all different websites? if they are different websites do you not get penalised by google for website duplication?

Thanks you have all been alot of help hearing different opinions. Just hoping there is someone like you who will pay that. Thanks peeps.
-
if you're going into another job, 2 options I would think about . .
renting the round out for £xxx.xx per month. No employing etc, just let them get on with it and you get a regular amount each month. Plus you still own it.
or
Sell it on a deposit/ monthly payment scheme.
I've done both in the past, although it was with people I knew who respected me and treated my round like their own.
Both ways offer extra opportunities as people who haven't got 30/40k in the bank might be interested.
Damn, if I didn't need an income I'd think of selling mine for that amount !! lol
-
all are going to one ste apart from ronberclear which is the old company name that iv left has it still brings work in.
windy im noy arguing but stating a fact i mean accountant no what about buying this type of business??
the fact is most business are good will but its your investment so you have to be 100% committed or youll loose custom
-
Is this the round
