Title: Help me get the right hose
Post by: Blue Frog Systems on October 24, 2009, 05:15:19 pm
Ok, so im trying to get the right hose after buying some from a fish shop that keeps splitting on me ....

The hose is going from my Shurflo pump which has an elbow joint on it, the diameter is 14mm

It connects to my hose reel, which has the brass connectors which measure 24mm diameter.

What do i need to buy to connect this up ? linkys would help :)

garden hose doesnt fit on the brass connector end. Ive tried that.

Surely someone has the same pump (shurflo 100psi) going to the same hose reel (metal - brass connectors)

can you not get a reducer to go from 24 mm to 14 mm, try gardiners pole systems or wintecs

Is it standard garden hose you use at the mo ? I do but is reinforced, from pump to hose lock to hose reel brass connector... I was thinking of doing away with the hoselock connectors as this last about a year, but if get knocked which it does at elast once a week I get a soaking.

I've used standard hose running from the pump elbow to a plastic hoselock and onto the brass male (which is fitted to the reel). The hoselock wouldn't spin and ended up twisting the hose.

I'm currentley using black plastic hose that's used for fish ponds. Problem is that with it being plastic is that holes appear daily and I'm sick to death of repairing them.

I don't have ports outside the van. I leave a door open.

Just want to find out what will work.

get a swival joint on the hose reel, gardiners sell them about £7

just like a brass elbow, but it does not turn as handle is..

if i have this wrong post a pic of what you have and I will help if back from doing building work in the office if not others will.
