Post by: AgnamCleaning on May 30, 2005, 04:29:01 pm
I just started out....and i received the following inquiry. What price should i be quoting here....your thoughts and feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Here is the inquiry:

"I have a  single bedroom flat in Islington not for from Essex Road(Greater London). And for now I am looking  at a regular cleaning once a week or even every two weeks. Just the normal stuff like kitchen, bathroom, vacuum, etc."

Thanks for the response. Is this price you quoted per hour charge?

hi there,

essex road north london, commercial office rates are at least £7.50 per hour if not £8.00 per hour as the charge out rate.

domestic, once a week you need to be looking at say £40.00 per week per visit, if you can afford to live there, then you can afford to pay.

you also need to consider parking etc,.  if i rememebr correctly you are looking at £4.00 per hour parking in some bits.

so probably looking at £45.00 per hour, and if they only want it cleaned fortnightly then i would probably go for  a little more.

regards

martin

Hi Martin

I know it was only 8:30 in the morning, but don't you mean £45.00 per visit as apposed to £45.00 per hour? ::)
At £45.00 per hour for cleaning, i am packing up my job and going there.....

Anyway, been a while away from the forum, too chuffing busy at the moment.....Started our first George Wimpey Site this week.....not too many miles from you!! ;D

Just signed up for our first Taylor Woodrow contract....long way away from you so no need to panic!!

Along with the rest of our customers.....very busy. Will post a picture of the new van when i have it sign written.....Ford Connect Van, windows all around with seats in the back. Very nice to drive, even if it looks like the pope-mobile!!

Take it you are busy too Martin??

Be good to hear from you again soon.

Kind Regards

Tim

Thanks all for your help.

Based on the feedback i got ...i think i made a big mistake....
I quoted the client £8.00 per hour with a minimum of 2 hours per week.

Thats Life!!

As long as we learn from our mistakes as we go, then the only direction should be up and up.  ;D

But that is what this forum is all about, helping each other out with pointers and feedback.....from mistakes we have made in the past and leart from.

Regards

Tim

In London you do have to be quite competitive on the price for a regular domestic clean as prices start from as little as £6 p/h I charge £9 per hour and still get in more than enough business. Obviously you charge more for spring cleans and end of tenancy's etc.
