Can anyone on the group recommend a good cleaner for
Upvc (plastic).I need it for window frames, plastic guttering
And cladding etc. What I`ve used in the past have been solvent
Cleaners recommended for upvc. With sometimes limited
Results. What I did find mainly was that most products `dull`
The plastic, also it`s easy to get fine scratches.
Thanks for replies.

Hi
Brillo degreaser (strong solution) spray on, leave for 1-2 minutes, scour on with either green or metal and wipe off.

Hi
I cleaned a front door the other day using Astonish uPVC cleaner. If you have a Yorkshire Trading near you they sell it for £1 per 500ml bottle. Fab stuff...just put it on a damp cloth and rub the area. Finish by wiping with a clean damp cloth.
Here are the pics I took...

There was a post on this before somewhere, really do recommend T-CUT though,it'll also get the rubber stains out that bleed onto the plastic.
Also CIF does a good job, both wont scratch ;D

I use a product called Krud Kutter Gutter, ( American ::)) Cleaner.
Water based, Biodegradable. Spray on, watch the dirt run off, wipe with a clean damp microfibre cloth, stand back and admire ! :o
I think the uk website is called www.krudkutter.co.uk (http://www.krudkutter.com)

Got to disagree on that one Stalwart.Don`t know about CIF but T.Cut
Will leave very fine scratch mark, leastways it did on my own place.
Some great replies here.Yorkshire Trading are at Driffeld ( just googled)
I`m near Leeds.Might try over there.

Tescos cream cleanser or Cif as already recommended

Dont use anything that is not specifically designed to clean uPVC. For a quid a bottle mate you cannot go wrong I promise you!
-
DON'T use scourers, green or metal. They scratch!
I'm a window cleaner, I use DoKtor power (JML product) for upvc.
I've used various upvc cleaners and found this the best one to use. You use the sponge that it comes. First you wet the sponge, rub it into the product so it foams, then rub it onto the upvc. Then you wipe it off with a dry cloth.
Hey presto... Its clean and looks great.
I mainly use it on the inside of conservatorys and my customers are extremely happy with the results.

Believe me when I say KrudKutter really works....
No Scrubbing, No Dulling, Minimum effort, Maximum Results ! :o
Why use all that effort and take a risk with creme cleaners when you don't need to ???
Les
-
What 'risk' and what 'effort' are you on about? lol
-
Well how about rubbing the creme cleanet on, rinsing it off, drying off and taking the risk of dulling the UPVC if you choose the wrong product ?
Compared to Spray and wipe off.....I'll stick to my choice .
;D
Of course, if you prefer your method who am I to argue.
Each to their own as they say.
